Wait a minute, the original Predator shows up in this movie. It sounds like it's not just another Predator that looks like him, but supposed to be that Predator, how can that work, he blew himself up at the end of the movie, he's dead.

Sounds to me like it will be a similiar Pred to the first, maybe from the same tribe? Would also work to explain why they first Pred and Elder look alike; they came from the same tribe.

I got to say Brody looks Badass.Can wait to see the movie.

Don't forget Fishbourne, he looks awesome! And it looks like he has a modified Predator helm, as well.

Guess the date's been moved or IMDB had it wrong becaue they say 7/7/10.

The only concern I have about this movie right now is Topher Grace, these guys are all supposed to be worthy adversaries in some way and I just have a hard time seeing him being convincing in that sort of role.

I can't see Topher Grace pulling off a badass, but I can see him being a psychotic serial killer that only acts nice though.

Hopefully, just that one clip from the stuff Spartan posted read like they run into the actual first Predator. I just hope however it gets on screen, it is very faithful to Stan's work.

Rodriguez talks in the vid about it being the 1st film, in essence a prequel maybe so it could be the original predator setting off for earth

a wee snippit from the Wiki post on the films special effects (and what i could remember from an interview when the film was announced)

"KNB EFX’s Howard Berger and Greg Nicotero have taken over building the creature suits. Berger, who worked with Winston on the original Predator, stated that the studio is reprising the original Stan Winston design of the Predator in the film, saying "We wanted to have the Predator look as it did in the original film. We went back and looked at the original...everyone’s going to be very happy that we’ve been very faithful to the Stan Winston designs."

Quite glad to see Howard and Greg doing this, as they are a fantastic team. From the "preview", seeing some of the predators, they have kept to Stan's Predator's, so i have alot of good feelings from a creature feature fan perspective


As for where the film stands in the "Predator" series...going by what Rodriguez said, i actually think he's refering to not wanting the film to be seen as the next in part in a series, but a stand-alone picture, or the first of a NEW series of movies. This would also bring into light the whole "original Predator" discussion. From what i remember of Greg and Howards interview, they didnt reproduce the original Kevin Peter Hall Predator, just the feel, tribal look and realism that Stan and his team pulled off for the first film.

He clearly says he didnt want it to FEEL like the 5th or 6th one but like the first. hes not Stating that it is a Prequel but that it will feel like the first which to me means it has nothing to do with the others.
