Saw it last night. First impression, MEH
I will have to watch it again when the Blu-ray comes out.

I actually liked Joel Kinneman as Murphy. Maybe because I watch AMC's The Killing and I really like him on there so he was likeable from the start.

One thing that puzzled me was, why in all the trailors, his voice was sorta robotic, but in the film it's normal.

It was an okay reboot but the original beats it in every aspect.

The main actor acting was quiet stiff for the role... Hey, Robocop is made in China... same as all our statues.

this movie was made by Americans For Americans. Who cares about the rest of the World buddy? :wave

REally??? If this movie was only catered to American and watched by Americans... they won't even make enough revenue to pay the actor and actress their salary. :lol

:lol you're not supposed to watch vlogs tho, only listen to them while doing something else.
I get why you'd be annoyed by raging nerd but it was much more entertaining than RobroCop.
And his critique is spot on for the most part.

I avoid vlogs no matter what, viewing or hearing. And anyone who feels justified in whining for 3 hours about anything would best serve the planet as fertilizer. :D

Just watched it, it was better than I expected, I liked the guy playing Murphy, he was likable and not douchy like the trailer showed him to be, and he was really a badass, contrary to what I expected, with the rubber suit and all, the scene where they disassemble him completely removed my prejudices about him being just "a guy in a suit", it was a brilliant scene.

The rest of the cast did a good job but nothing memorable nor remarkable, ironically, even with the updated sociopolitical issues the original still feels more relevant, but those updates set the reboot apart from the original, and that's appreciated, doesn't feel like it was trying to compete with the original, and unlike the trailers showed us, it was actually quite respectful to the original.

Overall, I liked it, didn't love it though, I would watch a sequel if it were to happen.

51 million domestic, 187 million worldwide and counting. Hopefully that'll be good enough to greenlight a sequel.

I hope that right there puts the stupid "made by Americans, for Americans" idea to rest.

I think we know this will most likely happen. :cuckoo:

At least a Dredd sequel is actually looking likely again, and it's great that Karl Urban is pushing for one, more than just a pay cheque to him it seems.

Dredd was flippin badass man, it seemed more like the original and the Sly one is the crappy remake. In all honesty I hope both get a sequel...

Dredd 2012 is a poor man's Verhoeven RoboCop, which it clearly wanted to be. It wasn't. Robo 2014 was "pretty good" at best but at least it was it's own thing. If I need to watch a subpar hyperviolent imitation of Robo 87 I'll just watch RoboCop 2. Murphy vs. Cain > Dredd vs. "Mama."
