Robocop 2014 > Overrated Dredd 2012.
Is a poor man's Verhoeven RoboCop.
If I need to watch a subpar hyperviolent imitation of Robo 87 I'll just watch RoboCop 2.
Wait, so DREDD is bad because it's actually a good adaptation of the comic book...
And because it felt like 80s flick with its simplicity and violence...
And because RoboCop concept is a ripoff of Dredd...

Either I see things that aren't in your posts or you finally lost it :lol

Dredd is bad because Khev doesn't like people poopooing this new RoboCop he loves more than the original. :lol

The CG blood *killed* the 80's vibe. Just killed it. Didn't feel 80's at all. And classic 80's action flicks were actually quite clever, which Dredd also was not.

Your comparing it to the new robocop and your complaining about bad CGI? :dunno

At least the new Robocop knew enough to cut away from bloodshed than to show that fake video game crap. Some things just have to be CGI and it'll either look real or it won't. There's no excuse for not using real squibs.

I honestly don't understand. I am a stickler for bad cgi, it drives me mad, I also hate 3d so Dredd should have been on my naughty list, it turns out however it was great. I didn't notice any bad cgi, I thought it was incredibly well integrated and very minimal actually and watching it in 2d had no averse effects, noting noticeably flew at the screen. I'll stop arguing now, we clearly won't agree. I'll stick to Dredd and the original rated R for Robocop ;)

Maybe the cartoon blood translated well to 3D, I wouldn't know as I watched it in 2D. All I noticed was that it looked worse than the blood I'd seen in every other action move ever made and was totally distracting. I suppose I might have let it slide if like it's 80's counterparts (Robocop, Die Hard, etc.) it was interesting, clever, or inspired, but it was just such a generic door to door shoot 'em up it had no impact on me whatsoever. At least Robo 2014 had the Murphy parts reveal, better than anything in Dredd.

But I hear you, agree to disagree. :)

I will say this, Dredd had a good tone. In that sense it was a nice palette cleanser after Stallone. Urban was also cool as hell and looked great in the suit. I just wish they'd made a better movie with what they had. The villain sucked. If this movie had a Hans Gruber or a **** Jones or a Clarence Boddicker it might have been something. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.
