Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

I don't like the suit , quite like the helmet and visor.
What I dislike the most is the fact that I can't shake the feeling that this looks like a low budget spin off tv series.

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

I think it looks awesome. Fanboys refuse and dislike change. So I expect these types of reactions on this board. I'm open to this. The cast is awesome. I don't think this will be crap. I could be wrong but I just don't see it.

Change is good when it makes sense. Turning RoboCop into an Iron Man Street Hawk is not a good change, at best it appears to be what it is, contrived.

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

I think it looks sick ! bring on the new movie.
I am pumped.

I know once the trailer is out people are going to be like OMG !

Most likely people will just find a new thread to ***** in:lol I really don't even know why I bother checking these movie threads anyway since its the same complaining about how they're not copying everything about the original version step by step:cuckoo:

Sometimes I wonder if there's any designs, post-90's, that people here actually like or don't go into a panic mode on during leaked pics:dunno

^ :lol

The point is.. why is this film even being made.

The original film was a wonderful product of it's era; artistically, the themes it addressed, & the social commentary / satire was second to none. What's this one bringing? :huh

Don't worry, RoboCopy will be relegated to the bargain bin before you know it. ;) :lol

Why not? If this was another movie involving a Robot Cop, everybody would be complaining how its just a copy of Robocop anyway, so why not just use the name anyway:dunno I know everybody wants "original" movies but what hasn't been done already?

Design-wise, I know people will hate it regardless because its not what they know but other than that, I don't see how people can just jump to conclusions so deeply as far as saying the movie sucks. I loved the original as much as anybody here but if you remove the nostalgia, it's just a typical 80's movie that had great designs and alot of explosions and relied on gore. If you want to take more from it, then so be it. But saying how great the original one is and then saying how badly the reboot sucks when it's still a year away and no official promo shots or even a teaser being released yet, is a little premature, isn't it?

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

I started writing a big rant about how Verhoeven, Bottin, Tippet, Weller, Kurtwood Smith, and a bunch of other people were at the top of their game. Then I realized i don't need to.

I don't know if this movie will suck. I just know it won't be Robocop. Without those people it can't be.

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

February 2014? Ooohhh I don't know. There's going to be alot of competition from "Beverly Hills Chihuahua 5: Look Who's Eating ****" direct-to-DVD.
