Ok, apologies for the misunderstanding.

And the fact whether something will always be in demand or not is redundant when what I am arguing is that you cannot judge something properly before you see it. You just can't.

True.. BUT there's enough out there now to get a pretty good idea about what to expect - visuals aside.

And if you look at my previous posts, you'll see that I agree with what you are saying about modern audiences dismissing movies that they deem to be too old and how ridiculous it is.

Yeah, I did see that - cool.

All I'm saying is, at the very LEAST, some people will see the '14 version, like it, and then consequently watch the '87 version and realise what a great movie it is, when they would've otherwise rejected it on shallow terms.

Perhaps.. it won't help things though, when they get to the boardroom scene where Keaton (I think) basically rubbishes the original black & silver RoboCop design - says.. how about all black. Pretty much sets the tone right there.

Ultimately, it's highly unlikely that this will better the original (pretty much impossible), because '87 will always have originality, impact, and nostalgia on it's side. But '14 is it's own film, and can still be an ok movie in it's own way, only time will tell I guess!

That reminds me of a Bill Hicks joke about then-current pop stars sucking Satan's **** and his sp**m eating its way through their stomach lining. I actually enjoyed the Total Recall remake and will happily watch this - so I've been doing some chugging. Having said that there is hope for me yet. I may end up agreeing that its completely ****. Don't write me off yet fellers.

The original Total Recall was far more creative and 1 of Arnold's best, the new TR was like watching I Robot and i hate colin farrell.

The original TR might have had some cheese liberally sprinkled over it, but it was extremely fun then and still is now. The new one was completely neutered and antiseptic to me. No soul at all. I can't imagine that with the delays the new Robocop has had, that it's going to be anything but a nut lump.
