I searched the forums but couldn't find anyone doing this one. Either way I figured it would be good practice as I get use to the scale. I've been a fan of Robocop since I was horribly desensitized by the movie as a kid. lol What better way to celebrate being ever so warped than a liquifying Emil sculpt!

We all remember this guy . . .

Obviously there's not a whole lot done as of yet but the possibilities got me excited and I wanted to share. Thanks for lookin guys!

Considering Emil's size what style body would you guys suggest, ttm21 , ttm22 , or another? This would be a base for whatever mod I come up with for the final look. Which will likely make the figure a bit bulkier. So I'm not sure if I should go with something sturdier or smaller.

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Liquifying Emil - Robocop - Question

Since you're going to modify the body a lot... and probably want something a bit smaller to begin with I might just go with a cheap Dragon. They are a bit smaller and if you are going to sculpt on all the details of his dripping flesh it would be a good base to start off of.

What's funny is I was actually toying with the idea of working on this figure for this months kitbash challenge earlier today after seeing Murphy is included with the new BD Robocop :lol

Re: Liquifying Emil - Robocop - Question

With all the Robo stuff coming out I was surprised it hadn't already been done. I guess it never crossed my mind to use it as an entry in the contest. All the modding, clothes, and paint would make it a pretty tight deadline anyway. Appreciate the info, looking into the dragon bodies now.

Re: Liquifying Emil - Robocop - Question

Might as well enter him... and if you run out of time, always enter something else :duff

The Dragon bodies are not fancy at all, but since Emil is kind of small and you are likely doing some heavy sculpting that will also restrict articulation it seems a waste to do it over an expensive body.

Re: Liquifying Emil - Robocop - Question

True. I've actually had a few ideas that might work for retaining some articulation in the better bodies. My first thought was to mold the body sculpt and cast it in latex. That would at least allow some give and maybe add a creepy flesh feel. Still brainstorming everything really.

Re: Liquifying Emil - Robocop - Question

I noticed my last round of pics didn't quite show the details well enough so I threw on some secondary lighting for this batch. I'm really enjoying this one and may even finish it up before the Grig head I started.

So far so good . . .

Re: Liquifying Emil - Robocop - Sculpt Update

I dig it... if you offer casts I'd be interested in one :lecture

Re: Liquifying Emil - Robocop - Sculpt Update

I'm thinking I will. Maybe even a set that includes torso, arms, and hands. We'll see how it goes. :)

Re: Liquifying Emil - Robocop - Sculpt Update

Alrighty, smaller update. Eyes and mouth done. Roof of the mouth has some details and a temp tongue is in. Next up is the nose and some dentures for chompin.

Re: Melting Emil - Robocop - Sculpt Update 10/13/14

Head sculpt is pretty much finished. Hopefully you can see all the details in the video, set for max res. On one side the goatee and side burns remain intact while on the other they trail off as though he's loosing his hair. The more damaged side has extra vein work, unevenness, etc. I've ordered some mohair for the back of the head and have a body inbound for the rest.

Pretty happy with my first ever 1/6th head sculpt. Hope you guys like it too. Leave comments, feedback, critiques.

Re: Melting Emil - Robocop - Head Sculpt Complete

Looks awesome! Seeing first hand how difficult it to sculpt this small, makes me appreciate the intricate details you've managed to put in this sculpt. I've got to pick your brain on what tools you've been using.
