So I'm new to this forum, so if I screw up somewhere I'm sorry I'll try to keep this short and have lots of pics :).

Here's my dilemma I bought a Hot Toys Robocop V.1 about 3 months ago, and never knew that the helmet was not removable. A store owner had explained to me that if you bought Hot Toys from asia that they would be better and use likeness's of actors because in Asia they have no copyright laws, so when I received my Robocop I got very excited when I saw his face underneath. I tried to pull it off but found it hard after quite a struggle I finally got it off.

<a href="https://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a84/Louie138/?action=view&current=DSCN1952-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a84/Louie138/DSCN1952-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

When I tried to put it back on it didn't fit quite right at least to me it didn't and I didn't like the idea that the helmet could easily come off, so I decided to superglue it back on, only with a light coat. Right before I did it though the visor came off! So I decided ok I just got to glue this back on too. Well since I didn't have the paint brush type of superglue I had to be very careful in doing so, but I put a little to much and got some on the visor!

So in my brilliance decided to just file it down to get it off and back to its shinyness, didn't work. So I filled the whole visor! Thinking back to my youtube videos I watched I remembered a video with Pitu talking about nail polish I tried it and fixed the visor, when I went back to put it back on I got glue on the sides of the helmet, its not a big deal but I know in the back of my head that my Robocop is not perfect. I emailed Hot Toys and know that it takes them like 2 months to respond but what should I do?

Thats funny I just saw that the other day, but the helmet looks a little grey doesn't it? :D, Anyways I've been in contact with someone on youtube and he had problems with the paint job on the Robo V.3 and they were sending him a new head. So here's to them doing the same for me. If they have some V.1 heads lying around that is. Hell I'd let them fix mine if they could. I sent them pics and a picture of the receipt hope Hot Toys can help.

Also thanks for the welcome.

hmmm, I'm not sure that HT would replace a head that you have messed with. I may be wrong though, there are others on here more knowledgable about HT's returns policy.
Have you got the gun arm version then? The V1 Robo was grey.

I doubt he emailed Hot Toys and told them what he did, at least I wouldnt have told them.

I do have V.1 but in my pics it looks a little blueish, I know my debate with them is that the visor came off I didn't tell them the whole story. Plus it doesn't say on the box that the head wasn't removable. Damn if only I came to this forum before opening him up UGGGHHHHH. Its still in ok condition, but I guess being a obsessive collector it just bothers me knowing that he is not 100% especially since I almost paid $200.00. Worst case scenario I buy another one.......... oh god :(

Would they not want to see some pics or something before replacing the head?

wow!! well, not sure if Hot Toys will be able to do anything now. I don't think they have any more Robocops around. But doesn't hurt to find out. i wish i could offer up advice - the only thing i can say is next time, don't be so quick to try something on your figure! test it out on something not important, or post here what you are thinking of doing to see what people think. there are plenty of people here with experience in customizing.

and welcome!

Yeah I sent them pics of everything I think they would want to see, but its hard to see in pictures it looks way worse in person. Ok not that bad but my eye always goes to the flaws.

Hell I'd be ok with sending it to them, well maybe not what if it broke on the way there or back from HK? Yikes  No if I could I'll just send em the head the only problem is that you can't see the defect in the pic. though the visor does look more shiny so I hope they notice the defect.

OUCH! I'm gutted for you. I've been there soooo many times...you try to do something to sort the mess out then that causes even more problems etc etc!!!
My choice would be to battle damage him...if you're into modifying, then just keep watching ebay for a new one

Wow, that sucks. How was this finally resolved? Also, I thought the Robo v1 didn't have a removable helmet. Its cool to know that they actually have his face under there even though its not removable. Good luck, hope it gets resolved.

Some Asian figure store owner tried to sell me that same B.S. about likeness of the figures. B/c he bought HIS from Asia, the sculpts would have a better likeness then, say, one that I bought from Sideshow. At the time he was eluding to the Italian Stallion Balboa. I nodded like I believed him and walked out of his 1/6 figure store in San Fran empty handed. I'll never buy from him from now on (I wouldn't have bought from his overpriced store anyway).
