...Weller likeness issues that prevent a fully removable helmet...???? I seam to remember pictures of HT's RC holding it's helmet in hand. I also remember that some of us where complaining about the back of RC's head not being 100% accurate: there where no electrical/mechanical parts seen on the back of his head, as it should be.

There were pics of those. It was a generic looking face with an entirely black back of the head. However, reviews have been stating that the helmet is glued down and is not supposed to be removable. I'm thinking what we saw was a picture of a generic face that was sculpted so that there was actually something beneath the helmet (perhaps slightly visible through the visor and up through the bottom of the helmet...)

I'd interpret that as the lack of Likeness to Weller stops it being displayed sans-helmet - rather than the helmet being non-removable. Because of that likeless I suppose the manufacturer may have changed the figure so the helmet was non-removable given the inaccuracies underneath.

Not that its an issue for me - as someone else here said - are you REALLY going to display without the helmet on ?

I don't bother about the helmet being glued to the figures head. After all, it's Robocop I'm buying, not murphy... (Murphy! It's you!). HT can alway release a Murphy-Robo up the road.

If it had a terrific Weller likeness, yeah I'd probably rotate it regularly (helmet on, helmet off, etc.). But if it was removable and just a generic face, forget it!!!

The helmet is apparently glued on, but with a little prying, can be easily removed.

Here's what has been posted previously.

Well...on its own, that looks horrendous. But kudos to HT for actually sculpting a face to sit behind the helmet. Adds a little something to it, doesn't it? :)

So in the news letter it says the figure will be shipping within the next 30 days, is that accurate?

Yeah Deke, they're coming in August from what I'm hearing. And I think the helmet is definitey removeable, why else do full head sculpt with back head detail (not the black covering, the tooling detail), makes no sense at all. This helmet will be removeable IMO.

It is arriving at Sideshow in the next 30 days for them to distribute. They are not the only distributors however. The helmut is removeable, if you pry it off. It has landed here in Australia and the guy that got it has said his was glued on. That isn't an opinion. That is fact. Why do it? Because they can. Why put a tatoo on Angels back, when he is wearing a shirt?

Maybe they had intended to add the mechanics on the back of his head and ran into problems. Maybe it is just easier to assemble that way. It would seem to be alot of trouble to take, if they just sculpted his eyes used a blank for his nose section and sculpted his lower jaw. It is probably why the likeness is so off, because they intended to have the helmet glued permanently on.

I agree with you 100% on that assumption.

I just hope I can afford him when he arrives (I ordered from Corner Store Comics for $115 shipped...not a bad deal at all).

Dredged the thread up from the depths...

Did anyone notice the pre-order for a Robocop figure on Thursday? I guess that is what one of the ? is in the booth section. Although I'm very curious as too who it is?

I noticed that too! I'm glad I wasn't the only one. This should prove to be very interesting. We'll see.

I haven't ordered Robocop yet... fund have been a it tight. But has anyone gotten one yet? Robo has always been one of my favorites and it really looks like HT nailed this one.

And with a new announcement, the series may have some legs afterall. I think we're all really lucky that Sideshow has teamed-up with them!!!

Oh damn! I would give my right... well you know, for a Clarence Boddiker! That would make Robocop a complete necessity!
