As kids during the 80's my sister and I were taken to Showbiz Pizza Place regularly. Rock-afire animatronic musicians and entire atmosphere blew us away. Dad could chow on a works pizza, smoke some cigs and throw down a couple cold pitchers of Hudy while we safely wilded out on Kangaroo, Blackhole Pinball, US vs Russia phoose hockey and everything else. We had all the merch the records the dolls the mugs the ashtrays and a couple Fatz flyers that the dog would fetch. 1990's hit, times were a changing as they do and suckily it was goodbye to Showbiz and the Rock-afire Explosion. Everything fun in that joint was stripped out and replaced with the Chuck E. Cheese Pizza Time Players, 25 cent kiddy mall rides, prohibition and tv monitors. After a couple years of PTP the totally uncool and sloppily animated Munch's Make Believe Band was brought in, they are there till this day. I was older when the changes took place, some might say i was to old for it but i cared and thought it all stunk after Biz and Rock-afire went away. Showbiz WAS the place where a kid or kid at heart could be a kid. Anyway, I'm stoked over the release of this dvd and thought those of you who were fortunite enough to live it up at Showbiz might be as well.

Ah, this brings back memories of playing game after game of skiball to get enough tickets for those cheap ass prizes.

Loved Showbiz Pizza as a kid. I still have a Fatz Geronimo doll back at my parents' house. I saw this trailer last year or so, and wondered what was happening with it. A definite rental when it comes out.

The characters in the animatronic band look very similar to the ones I watched at Shakey's Pizza when I was akid. I loved Shakey's!

Hey, we had one of those. Then it became a Chucky Cheese.

That's Chuck E. Cheese.:D

Edit - I like Check E. Cheese, though. The security there for child safety is freakin' awesome! The worst parental twit can feel that their kids are safe there.

cool some of you dudes remember

yeah i was wondering the same thing. got the notice and just went ahead and ordered the dvd when it became available. the biz holds a special place.

chucks does have good child security when the teen security guard is actually at their post. it's Definitely for the wee ones, toddler friendly place.
