From Gamespot:
Our first question was about the inclusion of three-part harmonies, which might pose a challenge for novice players. Randall said that the Beatles game will have a practice mode--much like the drum trainer in Rock Band 2--that will help singers identify harmonies that they might otherwise have trouble spotting. Similarly to how the drum trainer works, the vocal tutorial will let you loop specific sections of a song and even play tones from a particular harmony line that you can sing along to over and over.

While three-part harmonies are available to the Pauls, Johns, and Georges out there, you won't be required to nail them in order to have a great time in the game. In fact, a single vocalist can choose to fly solo with the song, or for a real challenge, players can jump on to vocals and try to sing and play at the same time, much like the Fab Four did. At the end of a song, the game will measure which harmony part a particular singer stuck to the most. If you can execute the three parts, however, you'll get a bonus point modifier (known in the game as "Triple Fab") that will reward your vocal prowess.

I guess that means if I wanna sing John's part, Paul won't sing with me if I am the only vocalist. :(

Will they also include LSD for use when playing some songs so you can get the full Beatles effect:rotfl

Surely they would have John's vocals if you're only singing Paul's vocals and vice-versa.

See thats what I am wondering. Unless I read it wrong, that gamespot quote makes it sounds like its all or nothing when it comes to vocals.

Stinks that a groups can't play all 4 instruments (5 if you count the mic) at once. I suppose they'll drop a guitar or bass for group play?

i'm pretty sure you can play 7 elements at once. 3 guitars, 3 singers and 1 drum if you wanted. i think they will have a usb adapter for the mics.

The screen shots I've seen show only 3 scrolling guitar neck instrument tracks with the vocal track scrolling across the top. :huh

The 2 guitars are played from the same cue list?

EDIT: from the wiki:
The game allows players to perform in virtual bands by providing up to six players with the ability to play three different peripherals modeled after music instruments (a guitar peripheral for lead guitar and bass guitar gameplay, a drum peripheral and up to three microphones for vocals).

darn. oh well. It would be pretty darn crowded on the screen I suppose. lol. sounds like 3 guitars at once are not an option either...?

I guess that means if I wanna sing John's part, Paul won't sing with me if I am the only vocalist. :(

Using the original 2 Rock Band games as reference I would say The full vocal track will be there regardless of if you have 1 singer 3 singers or no singer. It's just that the game supports the 3 way harmonies if you so chose to use it.

I think I'm gonna pre-order thru Gamestop, to get the extra 3 songs.

Would you be able to un-lock them w/o the code thou?
