I would be all over that if they did.....so...nobody knows where to order this from???

Your best bet as far as I can tell would be to ask one of the dealers on OSW. Not sure if he'll be able to help out, but put a query to Azteca. Good luck Exoticlex, I hope you can swing it.

I emailed a couple of sites to see if I could get on their WL.....already heard back from TimeWalker toys telling me NO.....we'll see...I PM'd WAKE...maybe I'll get lucky.....If they only made 1500 why haven't they made it to the US yet??? This figure has been out for several months now....maybe they made another run at it once they realized how good it was selling?

Best as I recall from the OSW thread - possibly came from Bryan - was that the two batches thing was signalled a while back, maybe round December. SE Asian stores were slated then to get their stock first, followed by the US and other markets.

I can't believe they wouldn't capitalise on this by bringing out a slave/gladiator version, not sure if this will get another run though.

I don't think their intention was to make a character from Gladiator, but to make a mostly historically accurate Roman General that just so happened to look like Crowe.

Which is what's so frustrating for me about this, so many are buying this figure for a movie figure, whereas I just want this for a bad *** Roman soldier and it's sold out everywhere. I thought I read somewhere that they were doing a second version of this one. I might've just been reading the many duplicate threads on this figure though.

Umm. Maybe I guess. But that it does look just like Russell Crowe from the movie Gladiator is why it is sold out everywhere. I think there may have been a tad of intention here:monkey3

If you want a historically accurate Roman General, your best bet is to wait for Kaustic Plastik to do one.
They have released an amazing legionnaire and have already previewed a signifier, a centurion and another legionnaire.

I agree, it was intentional on ACI's part. Though I don't feel it's their MO on every thing they make.

Historically accurate doesn't interest me much, I just want this figure.
A good example would be if this didn't have a Crowe head sculpt, I would still want one whereas a lot of people would pass on it.

LOL.....historically Roman General.....you crack me up screamingmetal....this is a Russell Crowe Gladiator UN-Licensed figure...plain and simple....they had zero intentions of trying to make a historical figure.

I never said it was historically accurate, I said mostly. ACI doesn't really care about accuracy, they never have. They probably just watched Gladiator as their reference, and I did say it was intentional.

...the success of which they might very well and sensibly capitalise on by bringing out a "historically accurate" Roman Gladiator.

That just happens to look like Russel Crowe.

From the horses's mouth from the OSW thread:

I would love to see both armors being made!

Strongly agree !!!!

Fourth! (I hope so...)

Well then I do hope they make the Crowe Gladiator soon so people would ignore the Roman General version and leave me one. :lol

I'd might buy a Commodus in that armor, but I've always hated the Crowe Gladiator armor (especially that stupid F'n helmet).

Now I hope they make a "historically accurate" barbarian with a certain Austrian actor's face.

I wouldn't whinge and whine about edition sizes and exclusivity if ACI did a second run of the Roman General. I hope they do, so many people missed out on it. Not a fan of the gladiator armor either... but a barbarian, by Crom, would be awesome.

If I remember correctly, Bryan said they would not be doing a second run, but there might be a future gladiator.

That is if I remember reading correctly from OSW.

Glad to be of help!
:hi5:

just pre-ordered Artorius Lucius Castus from BBTS
Centurion Legio II Adiutrix - Circa 178-179 A.D. - Marcomannic Wars - Leugaricio, Slovakia
A member of the gens Artoria (possibly of Messapic or Etruscan origin), he has been suggested as a potential historical basis for King Arthur.

I just can't resist that, just can't

Cotswald Collectibles stock is now in. So if you have a per-order with them you might want to give them a call. :panic::lecture:exactly:

Talked to cotsworld, update card info. Should finally ship out tomorrow.
