Really old? I though it was like 4 years that game...I have it, raging blast 2
Lol Raging Blast 2 isn't that old. The original OVA of Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans was made from a game that came out on the NES in 1993. Raging Blast 2 comes with the remake.

Man, you're on point :)
I was just getting ready to post that.

Yeah, like what Anti said Alex, The original came out in 1993, like I mentioned before it was completely redrawn for 2011.

Be sure to watch both versions. It's interesting to compare.

DBZ: Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans 1993
DBZ: Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans 2011

(not sure why they dropped the "super")

I watched the original version and half of the new version, I was going to watch the other half when I wake up tomorrow. It's a pretty cool story. It almost seems like if they borrowed ideas, it would have been a great combination. I really like new art but I didn't care for Gohan's design in the newer version.

I'm fairly sure that it's the 2011 remake that's titled "Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans", since the original NES video game is called in full "Dragon Ball Z Gaiden: Saiyajin Zetsumetsu Keikaku" which translates to, you guessed it, "Dragon Ball Z Side Story: Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans"

On the topic of new vs. old, I like the older cell animation, but I just wish that they had used more frames in most places. I think they must have had a very limited amount.

Also, who else would like a Figuarts of Hatchiyack? We already have everyone to fight him, it'll make a great display!

I like that color too. It is the closest to the platinum color they have come. I bought 3 of those and not one had that coloring for the hair... I'd love to trade one of the ones I've got for one like that.

On another note, were there any other figures besides Trunks and Normal Vegeta that were released in Toys r Us?

Ok folks, so I decided to browse youtube while bored, and came across the following video:

Now, I know i said I despise GT with a passion, but that doesnt mean I dont like the designs for ssj4, and that video shows, what I believe is OFFICIAL Toriyama designs for a certain legendary saiyan in ssj4. Its a manga that follows the card game in Japan called DB Heroes, I posted a video before of it, but the basic jist of it is similar to Xenoverse in its stories. So while the story itself isnt canon, the designs are, and he looks just as terrifying as i thought he would be.

If you havent seen the cutscenes i suggest you look on youtube for them, as they are very well done, designed by Toriyama and animated by Toei, and show some very interesting what ifs.

I like the SSJ4 design but NOT as a Super Saiyan form. To me, it should be the form of prehistory Saiyans...kind of like how we evolved from Cro-Magnon man. Losing the gold color is the big no-no to me and growing the fur all over is weird.

You know DB Heroes has a bunch of official art of most of the prominent Saiyans in advanced forms that we never saw in the manga or anime. Kind of like how the video games gave us SSJ3 Broly and Vegeta. DB Heroes has artwork of SSJ3 Trunks, Adult Gotenks, SSJ2 and 3 Vegito, etc.

Well yeah, that form is more of an anomaly than a natural progression. But what else could you possibly call it? Monkey Saiyan level 4? Ultra Saiyan? Super Oozaru? lol

it's just easier to call it SSj4 & leave it at that i guess :huh

I actually believe Super Saiyan 4 should be considered THE Super Saiyan form and not even Super Saiyan 4. I don't believe the Saiyan even has to transform into Super Saiyan 2 or 3 to achieve the transformation. All they need is their tail, transform into the first form of Super Saiyan, transform into a Great Golden Ape, and then regain your consciousness. I think that's a perfect mix of everything regarding a Saiyan's abilities.

SSJ4's issues tended to be that it sort of was undermined at times imo. I remember some dragon somehow reflected one of Goku's attacks back and causing him to power down to normal form easily, and then that SSJ 4 Gogeta had little time with it. My favorite aspect though, was that Adult Goku was back; if only it was permanent...
