I'm thinking it was more cost effective to do Vegeta since some of the parts/molds may carry over from the SSJ version.

That is probably why, likely. I want them to do Trunks though. I might still jump on the SSJ version if I can find a Trunks somehow

I doubt they'll ever do Trunks because of his surplus of accessories. They might just do a SSj version, or a normal version :/

Could happen and I wouldn't mind, since I need two on display. And also...

WOW I'm, lucky. For weeks I've been looking at my Scouter Vegeta's loin armor, wanting to remove them for a Namek accurate Vegeta, but I couldn't do it because I only have one, and his current market price would make any customization extremely unwise.

But I can cut-up a KO without batting an eye

This is a good idea actually, since I wanted two different Vegetas on display - one with scouter and tail, one without. I might do as well actually if I cannot score an SDCC one through one of my friends who are going.

Wow...looks like Datong got their hands on some of the Scouter Vegeta molds as well! Kind of surprised it's a more recent release they're doing this time but I'm not shocked they're at it again!

I wonder why they don't do Trunks or Gohan.

Let's hope they never do Gohan since he's a possible reissue (Like manga SSj Goku and Piccolo), and the repercussions of a KO Gohan would be terrible for everyone.

I'm a bit concerned about the Scouter Vegeta because he's kind of recent, I'm still interested in making a Namek Vegeta but I would have rather they done this once Nappa got a confirmed release.

This is getting out of control now! SSj Goku is still available, and can still get reissues even now. These guys are stepping on Tamashii's toes now along with bluefin's as well.

I understood SSj Vegeta, and even a possibility of Trunks, but this is no good for anyone if they make more characters (especially ones that can still be reissued).

though I feel kind of funny because his base gi color is a better IMHO, but besides that he's still an obvious KO, no matte finish, slight florescent tint, legs are a different color than the rest of his gi.

This isn't good, not good at all.

The thing is, it's not US supporting them, it's the "casual" buyers/fans that can't afford the super-inflated prices of the actual product which become extremely limited not too long after they're released.

Not just them, but uninformed consumers who didn't know/can't tell the difference.

I felt bad for this kid, he didn't even know about the official line.


In the comments someone asked him it was the 'official' one, he replied "I think so, I ordered it from a toy company" I sent the kid a link to a review of the official S.H figuarts one, and he removed his comments about it's authenticity afterwards.

I imagine most of their buyers are likely between them, the customizers who make money from repainting them, and quite possibly, the local Chinese that live near the markets that sell them as well.

These guys have already been doing Myth Cloth for a long time without any slowing down. I doubt that they even needed SSj Vegeta to do well to continue copying more products. :/

Unfortunately, I can't wash my hands from this because I did get the datong SSj Vegeta.

Time will only tell, really. As Philosopher mentioned, they may do a normal or Super Saiyan version but it's something, right?
