The only explanation for not getting majin vegeta yet is Wolvie's in my eyes: profit statistics. It'd be a hot seller and they wanna release that in a year they'll need the sales boost to compensate sales for lesser desired releases. This year they already have Vegito and possibly Ultimate Gohan for that.
This was a good point Wolvie made a while ago and I think this is a sort of... backfire from the line becoming so popular they can actually do supporting characters like the androids. That means their line up essentially gets watered down in terms of yearly sales numbers, no matter if it's successful or not, they're not gonna produce the amounts for the androids like they do regular goku. The aftermarket kinda proves that I think.
So yeah I'm affraid that by getting supporting characters more, it'll push some high selling faves further away, because they wanna use them down the line to keep yearly sales stats up, if not growing. I think Wolvie's right regarding that long term business model. This line is in such a craze that they can afford to think more long term. Especially because we know from Pwn that they have a ton of protos in their lab so they can always fall back on speeding up fan faves if the annual sales start to fall back.
In that sense I think the customers are cut by a double edged sword in the way a business deals with successful product lines. It's like in a game. The bigger the Boss, the more you should be careful not to spam all your attacks at the beginning and balance it out so you can keep afloat as long as possible. I think more and more they're progressing toward that. Longevity of the line sadly means more patience I think.
However I still think they make a business error if they don't have a goku and a vegeta available yearly. Goku is covered, but not vegeta. Guess they're working on how to do that. Or not in which case they're making a mistake imo.
