Well stated crisis not to mention, why would SSJ2 be called 'ascended', but SSJ and SSJ3 are just called, well, SSJ and SSJ3 respectively? Vegeta's buff SSJ form is also known as 1st grade SSJ too but same thing. Toriyama himself called SSJ2 SSJ2.

If the form doesn't have a number after Super Saiyan, it's a side/partial form. In all the media for DB, they NEVER call a SS2 character Ascended Super Saiyan.

He's taking one line of dialogue WAY too seriously, when everywhere outside of that scene (games/guidebooks) describes Super Saiyan 2... as Super ****ing Saiyan 2

Not to continue this but shonen1234, you need to read more carefully. People are saying that Ascended SS is a specific term, while when Goku says he has 'ascended beyond SS' he is not actually saying he's becoming a Ascended SS, but rather that he has risen above the original SS form.

If English is your second language or something I apologize. It is a very complicated language and is ridiculously difficult to learn.

Like everyone's said already, Ascended Saiyan IS NOT Super Saiyan 2. The ONLY person to achieve Super Saiyan 2 at the end of the Cell Saga was Gohan. Not gonna list any reasons or proof, since the prior posts have UNDOUBTEDLY proved it without a shadow of a doubt. Why are we being so argumentative, s***
