Wonder if they taste like wasabi nuts...

Interesting find shonen! I think they taste like yajirobe's– oh nevermind. #beandaddy

I have a question about RoF original dialogue (maybe you're best to answer Tin cause you can read chinese subs). What EXACTLY does Vegeta say to frieza before he fights him? (Would be ideal if someone spoke japanese.) Because:

In the english dub I'm not so convinced Vegeta's words on goku just being useful to fuel his rivalry and considering frieza's proposal to be in his army is so entirely a ruse. That is to say, I wanna know if Toriyama is sort of backtracking his redemption toward a "descent" guy. At the end of the final buu fight and that era he was pretty much fully redeemed, not to mention his atonement. As in converted truly to one of the good guys. Not an anti-hero (= someone that does a good thing because it coincides with his/her own agenda, not for the sake of it being a good thing). So I was curious what the actual og dialogue is there, and don't want it from an english sub if possible... I wanna know what Toriyama's written. (I believe the manga came after the movie, or reverse? Or at the same time? Whatever.)

Hopefully someone could answer me that cause I really wanna know this to as much detail as possible and I don't trust the english dub regarding a level that comes down to this much of an interpretation of dialogue.

@Sil, I think it goes along the lines of "I hate him, but I cant kill him, our rivalry allows me to get stronger" and for his reply to the army proposal "I have already decided to kill you myself". It doesnt make as obvious a hint as the english dub.

I mean the movie Tin... But if it's come up in super thats good to know too, so thanks either way.

(@big D) Basically, is vegeta backtracking on his redemption (or rather, is that pretty much ignores from the buu saga)? Cause they're ruining my tied favered character by doing so. Seeing how much he came to care for others and became an honorable warrior throughout Z right up to against buu, where his "win" is his sheer commitement to never lay done to protect the others from harm, even if he cant win from buu. That whole series spanning arc is so great, and so well done imo across the sayin, namek, cell and buu eras. The buu era closed his villainous fued with Goku. I'm fine with toriyama continuing their rivalry, but it seems it's backtracking to becoming mean spirited gain on vegeta's part. Don't like tht at all. The majin vegeta phase was great cause he sortof excersized his demons along fighting buu and when he comes back. Sorta why I feel his non armoured buu saga look is his most good-natured one yet equally his most bad ass one cause he was at his highest. BoG continued this fine. But RoF seems to backtrack...

If toriyama dials that back to inbetween cell and buu stage (which fits his uniform reprisal) that really bums me out. I'm not sure if I'm willing to accept that. (meaning I might start to ignore DBS).

If it means anything, (DBS SPOILER ALERT, kinda)

In DBS, Vegeta is back to his old ways of trying to overtake Goku. He's grumpy as usual and striving to train as hard as possible to become the strongest. I would chalk it up to the fact that Toriyama doesn't really care/acknowledge continuity or character development in his series. It's one thing with getting rid of animal people and making ki/flying very otherworldly, but certain characters such as Vegeta seem to either be devolving or going back to their prior ways. Apart from Vegeta, Buu and Beerus's characters are quite different from how they've been presented in the DBZ epilogue and even the movies.

The way the show is progressing is leaning to more comedic and rewriting the movies with less substance. The plot has been sub par and the writing not so great. Honestly, GT had a better beginning than this show (even though I hated the Black Star Dragonball saga). In GT, Vegeta had embraced civilian life and accepted that Goku was his better. In DBS and RoF, Vegeta is like you said, back to being an anti-hero. I hope it gets better but so far, it's kinda disappointing.

I am hoping that Vegeta surpasses Goku at some point.. just saiyan
BTW, if you're bidding or plan to bid on the Frieza on ebay ending soon, ask the seller for the leg and arm scratches pictures which he did not uploaded.
The paint is coming off Frieza's purple area on the leg and the arm has a huge black scratch.

Vegeta has always been passed Goku

saiyan saga: goku had to use artificial means of powerups to keep up with vegeta

vegeta been training since before goku was even born

non-canon movies: goku relies on help to defeat enemy, for extra ki or whatever

canon: goku still relies on outside help, genki dama or otherwise. vegeta goes HAM all by himself, win or lose

in buu saga vegeta finally admits goku's inert strength is greater than his, however vegeta surpasses goku when he inflicts damage albeit minimal on Beerus while in SS2, whereas Goku in SS3 couldn't even land a single hit

many other examples where Vegeta has proven he is stronger than Goku, these are just off the top of my head

The only time Vegeta is truly superior to Goku is during the saiyan saga. Otherwise Goku has always been one step ahead of Vegeta. In some cases various steps ahead. Who did goku rely on to defeat frieza? And during the Cell saga Vegeta couldnt even lay a finger on perfect Cell. Yeah goku relies on others for the spirit bomb but because he's the only damn person with the ability for it. Otherwise freaking oolong would be saving everyone.

Yeah, the Saiyan Saga is undeniably the only time Vegeta was stronger than Goku, and incredibly so, he didn't even need the oozaru, I still say Vegeta only did that '**** you I'm evil'.

I do wonder if Vegeta mastered the Super Saiyan state like Goku and Gohan did before fighting Perfect Cell how he would have stacked...
