So, is Amazon no longer stocking any new figuarts period? Did anyone ever get ultimate Gohan from them? I used to get my figuarts (Dbz and otherwise) from them but I havent been seeing new preorders from them... Have I just been missing them?

No. They have actually cancelled all pre order and no longer sell any Figuarts after Vegetto. Supposedly, Bluefin/& or Tamashii is in "talk" with them to get the situation resolve.

meanwhile, somewhere in Tamashii's storage dump lay the remains of Nappa & SS4 Goku...

If this is what it's gonna be, than my interest in DBS is highly trivial. If DBZ had any reason to have more content, it shouldn't be with the most stupid simple plot excuses to get battles. This **** feels like it's written by a 14 year old. Clearly dbz isn't popular for its writing, but good lord, db and dbz were not like this.

it's still early stages, so I might be pleasantly surprised later, but I've set my expectations at 5%. Also funny how RoF was clearly NOTHING but an advertisement.

So far a lot of this new stuff feels like a bad fanfic. Stupid names, lazy transformations, and terrible writing. I'm actually re-watching DB and while it was silly and goofy, the writing was good, the story was solid, and it's a joy to watch. When it had to be serious, it was. I feel DBS is trying to be like a good mixture between DBZ and DB but it's being executed wrong. The concepts presented with multiple universes and gods is good but it's just not playing out like it should. Hopefully it'll pick up somewhere down the line but so far, it's really nothing special.

Yeah but tbh GT had a stronger start than DBS. I actually didn't hate GT and thought it had some interesting concepts and who doesn't love SSJ4? DBS could get better and I hope it does but it's crap now

What I loved from the original Dragonball was Goku's adventures with Bulma and gang. It's not all about the fighting. What I really enjoyed was the interaction of Goku with different people that he met through his journey and the way situations just developed there, whether it was wacky or serious.

I think what's lacking in the current Dragonball Super story is exploration. Exploration opens up new avenues for storylines to develop. Right now, the story's pretty much focused on Earth and obtaining the god level. What seems to be happening after the Golden Frieza part is another typical set-up for more fights, but maybe there will be hope that this would just be a gateway for the entire crew to meet new characters and experience new situations and actually have an adventure rather than a string of battles for the sake of having fight scenes.

I guess one of the problems as to why the story currently seems a bit too boring is that we've already seen the movies, plus Goku and gang don't interact with other humans that much anymore. I remember when the first episode of Dragonball Super aired, I was delighted to see Goten and Trunks exploring the city as well as seeing Goku trying to have a normal job as a farmer. I always thought that maybe, they'll have the chance to go around solving people's problems again or getting into wild but hilarious situations that are touching. Speaking of really cool and emotional moments, I loved that episode where kid Gohan ran away from training, but upon reaching home, he realized that if he didn't fight the bad guys, everyone he cares for would get killed, and so he goes back to train with Piccolo. Those are the types of things that I miss the most.

Anyway I think there's still hope for Dragonball Super. I still like it now, but I hope it gets better soon.

Awakened Goku is definitely their most intricately designed figure to date but as far as accuracy goes Beerus is damn near perfect.

Beerus with other figures for March:

Metal build gundams! Diecast is the ****. I would definitely dig a metal build rx-78, but I haven't seen one. I have a rg Zaku on its way from HK.

On another point, I've tried keeping up with DBS, but man, they're really pushing me to the limits. It's bad. I actually watched the English dub of BoG for the first time the other day, and I have to say I think it's funimation's best dbz movie. The characters felt like real people. The rapour between Goku and Vegeta is at its best, especially when Goku teases him at the end for his "my bulma" outburst.

Finished my rg red frame over the weekend. Haven't applied decals yet:

Definitely it's the most ambitious of the scale, I just think Beerus is "prettier" if that's the word.

I hope this could be a start of a battle damage line, but that's unlikely considering the awakened look is such a crucial look of the Frieza battle.

It's gonna be hard to re-watch it in the English dub when it comes out. Maybe it's cuz I don't really like the Japanese version but like you said, it's been tough to watch. Perhaps watching it with the voices I know and love will make it better but so far it's just dragging and cringy at times.

If they do make another battle damaged figure it'd have to be Majin Vegeta. I can't think of any other character that has more of an iconic battle damage look. SSJ2 Gohan could work too but I doubt they'd do that since we already have a perfectly good manga and anime figure of him.

I think it will be more bearable when Funimation gets their hands on it (if that ever happens). They've really stepped up their game in recent years. I gotta say though, one of the biggest things I hate about dbs is the slow unfolding of events. I will probably never watch dbz in its entirety again specifically for that reason. TFS's dub got me back into dbz as an adult; what I really enjoy about it is that it's abridged. I just don't have the time or patience to watch a huge series.

And you're right about Majin Vegeta. He and Goku def have the two most iconic battle-damaged looks in the entire series. The only other one I can think of is ssj2 Gohan.

Awakened SSJ2 Gohan would work really well, because Cell has the Kamehaha to go with Gohan for the Kamehaha struggle (unless it's for that Kamehaha before Gohan decided to toy with Cell, but I doubt it due to Cell firing it from the sky, instead of on the ground). Gohan was pretty beat up by that point with his half torn gi, broken arm and bloodied face. Majin Vegeta has to have a battle damaged version, and perhaps clean, we can get 9001 faces through this! :lecture

Besides that, there is also 100% Power Freiza, and Mecha Freiza.

We absolutely need 100% Frieza and technically he would be battle damaged but he would only have some scrapes and bruises. If they do make Gohan, I'd want him to be anime accurate since personally the manga colors just aren't vibrant enough to really capture him well enough.

On the topic of the mythical Majin Vegeta I'd preferably want him in his battle damage form with hands and faces specific to that form. They could then give us a separate Buu Saga Vegeta with all his heads (Normal, SSJ, and SSJ2) with a halo attachment and the basic Vegeta hands and faces (since they won't give new faces if they don't have to).
