This Vegeta almost serves as an apology for how lackluster SSB Vegeta turned out

Nah, Tamashii had time to go back and work on Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegeta to make it better but decided not to. This new Super Saiyan Vegeta shows Tamashii at its best but, sadly, its only when they want to be.

@misterW I thought I saw toyarc listing vegeta for 78$.

They did and they were wrong. Shonen Jump says that he'll be priced around $50.

I've been kind of alright with them not including a normal head with the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegeta release for the longest time until I actually put a Scouter Vegeta head on the body. ...It looks fantastic! That would have been an amazing accessory for that release.

I really hope going forward Tamashii puts the same amount of time and effort into Goku and Vegeta releases.

because banpresto was taken over by bandai many years ago, but they still produce different product lines (banpresto mainly non-action figure)

This head is great and all for what it's worth but the one they "accidentally showed" is far superior. The explanation that it was a mistake is so disheartening.

Just like the animation and character design changed in the show, it makes sense that the figures evolve too.

bummer sure, but the fact that vegeta is labelled "super vegeta" and has some new leg parts, I am thinking we will se an actual "super trunks" down the line, maybe even as a webshop ex

If the Trunks head ends up coming packaged with Super Bejita like the alternate Klyllin head with Artificial Human Number 18, then all will be forgiven. Otherwise it's a completely bogus "mistake" on Tamashii's part.

Imagine if there was a whole 30 minutes of deleted footage of Heath Ledger's Joker admitted from TDK & a couple scenes were "accidentally" leaked, and Nolan/WB/whoever releases a statement saying "Sorry guys but this was never meant to see the light of day." A drastic example, but still.. GTFO here with that lame excuse son

Yes, this Vegeta will be a regular release. The first regular release for the character.

I agree. Just like the Figuarts Zero version, this detail screams Vegeta. I wish Tamashii applied the same amount of dedication to all future releases. I would rather have 1 release every quarter with this amount of detail than multiple releases with 1 out of 4 being superb quality. At least for important releases.
