wow angelo i was just thinking the exact same thing upon a second inspection haha :hi5:, but the future looks good for this body mold...until we get a million releases with it again lol

It does. It seems to push Tamashii to resculpt head molds such as normal Goku, which will is already being used for 2 releases, so hopefully we'll see ones for Super Saiyan Blue. Speaking of, as for an accessory, whether it be normal or Super Saiyan Blue, including a Zen-Oh would be a great decision.

Umm, hate to burst bubbles but the peg is usually on the body, not the bottom of the neck. That may not be as easy as we all think.

Luckily my bubble wasn't too big. Hacchaka wrote in his review that "With awakened version. As the neck has a special structure just like the old version, it was impossible to replace the head."

I agree misterW; Tamashii will cut corners anyway they can these days. They have no reason not to. Scouter Vegeta 2.0 is just Frankenstein Vegeta 2.0 (sorry guys but it is). They're reusing the same head for 3 different versions of the character (scouter, super, & SS2/Majin, and best believe if they redo SSB Vegeta it will have the same hair mold as well)

Vegetto 2.0 will be a frankenstein figure as well, all parts necessary are already available to us. Some people are still in denial but it is what it is at this point :dunno

i have no doubts about the frankensteining lol especially for vegeta figures. When it comes to him, for some reason tamashii just likes to give him the shaft. Although i'll give them credit for RoF SSB vegeta as his whole body was a new mold and the faces are the most accurate vegeta face imo, but even that one used the same head mold as the old one, just new faces with slightly reshaped bangs. If they redo SSB vegeta for DBS the most we'll get is new faces with new bangs again but will probably be the same head lol

@Deano we'll just have to wait and see the pegs for ourselves, if it's not as easy, tamashii will do more with the body, no doubt about it.

I don't FAULT Tamashii for re-using pieces of figures where it's necessary. I don't mind it on figures like Scouter Vegeta 2.0 because he fits the "new, modern style" of Dragon Ball that we saw during the later Z-era that has now become the defined Dragon Ball-style.

But they should certainly make up for it with some paints! We've seen the customs where a little paint could've gone a LONG way for improving the figure and JUSTIFYING the increase in price. Even tiny lines along the Saiyan armor.

If you want to get into the actual business of it...re-using parts saves them money and holding back on paint saves them money. In the end, it's a business and it's about SAVING MONEY and MAKING MONEY (Profits). Look at Hasbro with the Marvel Legends line, they re-use the SAME 3-4 body molds for almost every figure. While Tamashii can't re-use every part for every character, there are certainly some pieces where they carry over. It's smart business...even though it might not be fair to us, fans.

Personally, I can get over the re-used body parts, I want to see an improvement in the paints since that has dipped slightly.

Hopefully now with the new Goku body mold, we'll see future iterations of Goku 2.0 be a little cheaper as well.

Just started the figurise SSB goku, they really do look great in person. Taking me awhile since i detail as i build but here's how it looks so far (just built the head and face).

SSB goku model.jpg

used blue real touch to detail the hair and eyebrow, brown real touch for the mouth, black for the outlining on the eyes, and orange for the furrows on his forehead. Also shaded in the actual eyes and brushed it over with a cotton tip to give it more of a subtle blueness all around the inside of the eyes.

Who do you guys think will be the next new Z character Tamashii shows us? I think it'll be a Buu, either Kid or Super. If not him it may be Piccolo 2.0. Idk why but I feel like we're waaaay overdue for a new Pickles

Man I hope it's kid buu, I've been wanting that one for years now

If we go by the "pair" theory...it might be Majin Buu to go with SSJ3 Goku.

Hopefully they'll include a new "neutral" SSJ3 Goku face with it!

Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku is looking good in the model kit. I'm almost tempted to get one now. I have the Time Machine coming in about a week or two.

Don't forget Goku Black.

That reminds me of an idea that's been floating around, Bardoon. If collectors strongly demand certain faces for past releases, such as a neutral face for Super Saiyan 3 Goku, why not include those faces in future releases? Or even hands? Especially those that would be paired.

For instance, Zamasu. How great would it be for Zamasu to include an accessory for Beerus. Specifically this hand...

It's difficult to say without knowing Tamashii's focus. They went from Saiyan Saga, to a glimpse into the Buu Saga, then Goku transformations, and now into Dragon Ball Super. If they do want to put the focus on the Buu Saga after Goku Black, then it's a very strong possibility for a Buu form. Neither of their sizes will be accurate but hopefully the sculpting is well done. I don't necessarily see Majin Vegeta and Gotenks being paired together though.

We'll certainly know either this weekend or at NYCC. :wink1:

Well, they did it with Android 18 and she had the Krillin head, so it might happen again...but chances are slim.

I feel accessory or "bonus" packs would be great. We've talked about energy effect packs before, but they can do the same with extra hands, faces, etc. and I bet they would SELL. They did the extra accessory packs for the Robot Spirits line (mainly the G Gundam God & Master Gundams got extra Accessory packs...or "OPTION SETS" as they called them).

God Gundam's Option Set:

They're also a GREAT money-makers with LIMITED resource burden on Tamashii. For example, the "Neutral/Looking forward" SSJ3 Goku 2.0 face can use the SAME mold where his eyes are tilted to the side...just stamp the tampagraph eyes looking ahead! Simple! I'd buy it! You can add energy effects of old molds in different colors, extra head molds...I know we talked about it all before. It's also a way to cut QUICKLY into the Bootleg market who is making these extra head sculpts.

Chances are very slim but it would be the only option that Tamashii will consider since they've continued to shut down accessory packs for Dragon Ball Z. As long as they continue to release products that are related to older releases, it's their/our best option.

Bandai/Tamashii seems to view the Robot Spirits/Gundam accessories differently than the S.H.Figuarts. There's certain accessory packs that are either made to add towards the overall product or made to make the product what it should have been but wasn't able to. All accessory packs seems to have a significant amount of product as well.

I'm not necessarily sure Tamashii is confident enough in energy effects or a couple of faces to sell well. Energy effects are more likely going to continue being used as filler for releases that will re-use older body molds and there's only so many extra faces that could be made. Extra head molds add another difficult situation because, as you mentioned earlier, they will more than likely always choose the option of releasing a brand new release to receive more profit.

@cobra22 those are awesome pictures! really like trunks with the dolorian haha and you were right, the manga ss goku head goes pretty well on the SWA body!

So I finished detailing and building SSB goku. I tried darkened the sleeves of the shirt, the blue part of the chest, and the boots, and left the belt and wrist bands the default color to give it that look the anime does whenever he transforms. Also used orange for the skin shading and red shading for the gi. Used brown for the shoe laces too, i also painted the shoe lining, i used a zaku red as it matched the sticker colors, and also because when i had ordered red paint they were out of stock lol Outlining the eyes with black also add alot to the faces, really makes the eyes pop, i would def recommend this to anyone building these. I outlined the outside of the whites before putting it together and thinly the inside rim of the eye socket (with gundam real touch marker). Having all the supplies from building gundams really helps!

Overall, it's pretty darn good, if i never got into figuarts i wouldnt have minded this being my sole collection of dbz figures tbh. The only thing is that i wish the arms were a bit longer for goku, it looks a bit weird when trying to do kamehameha poses etc. Also the beam effect kind of doesnt work for kamehameha but is pretty good for one handed ki blasts, i like the way the charge effect looks but just wish the beams of light were much longer.

Still gotta do top coats but atm it's pretty good, dont regret the purchase or build at all! :lol

Also, i think it was Angelo? That mentioned the size of SHF broly compared to figurise goku, man i am surprised that broly is still somewhat in scale with it! I can see how the figurise Broly might smaller, but i hope it's similar in size. The model kit wasnt as tall as i thought it would be, overall good scale imo.

Forgot to add that the stand for the beam blast combined with the prong for the hip makes for a great stabilizer stand for the figure if you just want the figure to be in a heroic or glaring standing pose. I definitely dont want these guys to take a shelf dive.

One more hour to find out if Tamashii reveals any Dragon Ball Z prototypes. They've revealed the next Naruto release so maybe they'll show something for the Dragon Ball line as well.

I think as recently as last year Newman confirmed explicitly in a vid interview I saw mysekf that they're not gonna make these...

May? That's interesting. Edited: That's the France release date.

Thanks again for the photos, Cooler. You're always on top of this.
