Love the pics man!

D Amazing put up a review of Gotenks, and again during the size comparisons he actually seems fine tbh, maybe slightly tall but not as bad as folk were thinking.

Just picked up Gotenks from the post office today and noticed the right knee piece can easily get loose. Otherwise, it's an okay figure. Elbows barely go 90 degrees.

Gotenks is disastrously out of scale. Anyone thinking otherwise is trying to justify the purchase. That’s not a slight against anyone, it’s just being realistic. He looks great otherwise, but it doesn’t fit the Figuarts line at this point. Maybe the FigureRise product line. Probably too big even then.

Super Buu also seems slightly off scale. He should be a centimeter or two taller? Obviously that isn’t as big of a deal. Unless Gotenks is placed next to him. :lol

Not worried about Gotenks' height, there's always a way to pose figures to make them look shorter if you're so worried. Sitting cross-legged, crouching, jumping in the air with legs bent, etc... I did the same trick for my DF Ginyu that was too tall and he looks just right now. (I made him lean forward with one arm limp and ther other hand holding his chest, meant to represent the scene where he just body-swapped with Goku and now Ginyu!Goku is injured badly, goes well with my Ginyu Frog figure haha).

Dismissing it will only reaffirm that it’s okay for Tamashii to keep screwing up the scale of this line though. When we are paying the kind of money for this stuff that we are, no one should be brushing it off. We’re probably only months away from base figures being a solid $70 for a while.

Yeah...no. I have been collecting Bandai / Tamashii stuff for about 20 years in a variety of lines and I can tell you they don't care much about customer feedback. They're notorious for scale inconsistency within lines and it's been happening forever and it's not about to change. If Gotenks were to sell poorly because of a mass boycott due to scale issues, you know what they'd do? Remake a better Gotenks some time? No. They'd stop Buu Saga figures because obviously people want something else. I personally like this Gotenks, I don't find him that overscaled and I have poses already prepared for the TWO I ordered (gasp).

Let's not tell others what they should enjoy or not. :)

If you've ordered the Gotenks figure, I hope when you get it you'll be happy with it and the size won't bother you as much as it does now.

I mean, they’re good, but not as dope as these

Sadly, this is the truth about Bandai. They do care about customer feedback in the sense of future products. They'll listen to the complaints of previous products and try to apply that to future products but that's about it. If a product sells well, regardless of incorrect aspects, it's only seen as a success to them.

Lose the attitude there, buttercup. You can slow down on all of that nonsense. No one is telling people not to enjoy their figures. However, some of us don’t go around blindly praising obvious mistakes. And if we want to avoid this in the future, it would behoove the reviewers out there to start making a point about it. Instead, they’d rather constantly bring up paint shading. I don’t know how many times I hear and see that in a review.

One other thing that is pretty bad on Gotenks is his torso. They could have layered the vest on top of a molded piece of plastic, like with the Awakening Goku’s torn clothes.

That's not an official height scale, ive checked. Thats a mock up. Any scaling for Gotenks needs to be done via scene comparison.

Edit: Infact, found what looks to be Toriyamas official scale sheet, and as you can see, Gotenks is taller than both Goten and Trunks. The figures scale is off, but not by much.

Good find! I was actually looking for that. The artist depiction is all I could get from google though. :lol

And yeah, the figure is way off. The tip of his chin is nearly above Goku’s belt. I always felt the Kid Goku was too large as well, which I have now, but this one... it’s frustrating when people don’t pay attention to details, concerning this property. Even the creator himself. :slap

The scale issue has been a constant issue...the only question is whether Bandai has the self-awareness to recognize it or even admit it. I think on their popular lines, ultimately...they won't care. You're going to get the scale inconsistencies no matter what. They don't care cause they know it's going to sell.

Any of our Japan-based collectors may be able to attest if the market there is big on "scale"...which from my observation, they're not so much.

On some of the others, it's a different story. I'd argue that the small size of the Bowser figure single-handedly tanked the Mario line. On the lesser lines, it only takes one-or-two bad figure sales for Bandai to halt a line. I think this is mostly due to their high development costs which than translate to higher figure costs. So if a figure doesn't meet a profit expectation...they commonly cease a line (sometimes permanently, other times temporarily...a la Naruto coming back for a little).

If anyone is concerned about Gotanx scale, perhaps y’all should consider purchasing the Hybrid Action figure
