^ He meant i terms of how many votes for them were given so far in Pwn's poll.

You can't pass up Frieza man. Glad you finally got him!

It looks like Goku and Krillin are both production samples, they look awesome imo. I'm very happy with how they turned out. Subtle color differences don't really bother me too much. These figures beat the heck out of the ones I bought as a kid.

Guess in the end I couldn't indeed.^^ And yeah definitely man, they're way above any simple of action figure. With production samples do you mean you do, or you don't think these are akin to what we'll get in package?

Production samples are representative of the final product, that's why it's a "production" figure not prototype. They look like final product to me, with the markings associated with samples. If you check the MMPR thread there are some close up pictures someone took which include Goku & Krillin, and they look like final product to me. You can tell especially with Goku from the skin tone, as it's plastic not a painted prototype.

@Bane (and @PwnStar511). I haven't told them to vote, I've simply included the fact that WE are voting. They'll have to do it on this site. However, it felt manipulative to give the other forum updates (of which Pwn told me it's okay) and then not tell them there is a vote going on. Holding info back like that is not my style and we equally devalue our poll if we start to actively ward off other fans of this line. Tamashii's interested in our community only insofar as it represents consumers of this line, because that's the business reality they appreciate. If we start trying to steer who takes part and who doesn't, we're manipulating things and I'm not going down that path. The only reason I gave them updates, is because people who don't know about this thread might still appreciate this info and might actually become part of this board. It has no benefit to any of us as consumers to actively try to fragment the collector community (and it's of low character as well if done out of sheer self-interest) and therefor it didn't even cross my mind to omit this. I think Pwn knows I meant no disrespect to him, but I'm sorry if it appeared that way. It just didn't even cross my mind to not want to share the poll as much as possible because the more people take part, the more chance we have of it being taken seriously. I do not see a flaw or an indecency in this.

The problem with this is that the other forum has conducted their own polls and sent the results to Tamashii already (check Tamashii's twitter feed). By having people fro mthe other forum vote in this poll, too, they are essentially getting to have their votes double counted. I would also argue they their votes are going to be skewed towards the minor characters because they collect DBZ figures from all lines out there. Their opinion won’t necessarily reflect that of the general collector population…

Yeah okay I get ya Sci.

@KPman: If the voters on sideshow can't outweigh the voters coming in from 1 other board I highly doubt the feedback will reach a number where it will be taken seriously anyway. We really do need as high possible numbers as we can get (also Pwn's words). If we don't breach a 100 entries I don't think we'll make much of an impression.

Furthermore, a lot of people have all sorts of opinions of their poll, but who here has actually gone over to see with their own eyes what the results there are? A lot of high voted characters are in fact main characters. You can rest assured Tamashii themselves are smart enough to figure out how the form of one poll favors results relative to the other. For example they WILL notice Majin Vegeta is missing as an option in the other poll (let's keep in mind, he was missing on Tamashii's own survey). These results will get sent (if at all) to professional marketers, these people know how to digest empirical data, I am sure.

I'm sorry but when it comes down to it I agree with Branjita (other Board's Admin) that ultimately joining forces will be the lesser of two evils anyway you slice it.

If you're really THAT paranoid about double votes, it's quite easy: register an account and vote in theirs. To put it cynically: we can 'screw up' their poll as much as they can ours (although I don't at all favor this way of putting it).

Really people, try to keep the larger whole in sight, numbers are what causes impact and you're ignoring the facts if you think we'll suddenly get a flood of yamcha and oolong votes.

To add numbers to my own argument, say we reach a 100 votes. Say Kid Buu and Majin Vegeta are the winners with hypothetically 25 and 23 votes. Do you really think it'll matter if 5 people decided to vote Yamcha? They're not gonna vote kid buu or vegeta, because it's not what they want. They'll vote Yamcha, or won't vote.

The only result keeping them from voting will be that instead of a 100 votes, we've got 95. Say this goes for a few more people, say 6 votes for tien, 4 for Bulma and 4 for raditz. That's 14 votes less! We're now down to 81 votes. Maybe that's a point where Tamashii will say, geez, not even a 100 votes? Whatever people. (And realistically even a 100 votes is few, more like we'd need a 1000.)

All we do is hurt ourselves by lowering our voting count. If anything, people who want a yacmha are simply screwed, whatever they do, because he's just not very popular. (Take a different minor character, I'm just giving an example).

Strength in numbers! The higher the voting count, the more serious the poll will be taken. So what if Kid Buu wins with 30 votes instead of 35 because 5 people voted Yamcha. He'll still have won and those 5 Yamcha votes will just have helped validate his victory!

The majority rules only when the whole is being taken seriously. I can't stress this enough. Have faith main characters are main characters for reason. If anything, the pro-main character crowd should feel assured by the entire Japanese market who they apparently have on their side.

Let the people who want to vote for minor characters, vote for minor characters, it still serves all of us just because they crank up the voting total!:lol

Realistically, we need to get votes in the thousands. We should set up a facebook page with a poll, and then spread the word. I think that would realistically be the best way to reach as many collectors as possible. We'll never get enough responses here alone.

Disagree; I think if we can hit 100 on this forum, that would be a good goal. All the members here are part of the target audience that they are shooting for. We will have a good sample of the DBZ figuarts collectors community - we are the individuals supporting this line with our purchases. Opening up a poll to the general public on a site like facebook is going to make things incredibly messy. I would leave a general public poll up to Tamashii/Bandai...

How many people do you really think buy these figures here? A hundred people is a good number if you're looking at it like a focus group, but I've been collecting a long time across a lot of lines and you need more than 100 people to matter. That's probably barely scratching the surface of the sales number for an average DBZ figure at an average toy site.

This thread has consistently been in the top 10 of the Action Figure forum section for the last 2 years and has > 10,000 posts. I'd guess a couple hundred of the people who post on this thread or at least follow it have purchased 1 or more DBZ figuarts figures.

10K posts in a few years is pretty normal for an active forum. I didn't say it didn't mean anything, but that it wasn't a big enough sample to really make a big difference. The opinions of 100 collectors out of thousands of customers isn't really a big deal. I'm not going to argue with you. Think whatever you want. Talk to me when you get the figures request. I'll be sitting here enjoying the stuff Bandai makes that you don't want, but made anyway. :)

I think if we can breach a 100 we're in the first stage of slightly altering some dudes mind who might at some point vote in favor of something somewhere in some board meeting causing to eventually possibly make onfigure overtake another one out of two figures that were in the lead anyway...

Sometimes influencing 1 person's voice can ripple into a real effect. Inception style. "BWAAAAAAAAAAARM":lol

agreed; I don't think we are trying to influence them into making something that they would have never made otherwise. I think we can nudge them in the direction of rearranging the figure release schedule based on our votes. Maybe they'd release a Kid Buu or Majin Vegeta much later on, but if we show there is a ton of interest in them now, they might move these releases up in leiu of some other ones.

:goodpost::lecture IMO those polls in this forum dont matter.

Come on guys, dont be so against this; it was bluefin that told pwnstar to do this was it not? We are in a good position here, dont start being negative, its that attitude that is currently causing issues.

Whether it works or not, Tamashii and Bluefin will see that we are working together here on a properly fair attempt at conveying what we, the consumer, want, and not extermist collectors hell bent on seemingly destroying the line because they already have a Goku or Gohan from 10 years ago...

why didnt pwnstar take close up pictures of the figures (normal boku) to post on here if he was there?

Like it or not science is right to make a impact it would have to like a thousand people not just the 20 guys in this forum.

After 2 days we're at about 30+ votes. If we give this a few weeks who knows what we might achieve. I also think that because you dont have to just press a button but actually list characters on your own, putting in the effort to reply, that's a more impressive form of feedback imo. Essentially people are literally writing to Tamashii what they want, I think it stands a shot to at least make an impression given their explicit interest in polling the community.

We can just let people have their scepticism though, so long as they just also vote.:lol

Not being negative I want this line to keep going but I don't think this would work. If I get Buu or Majin Vegeta I'll be happy.
