no way I'd pay more than $60 for a dbz figuart figure
My problem is mostly to do with the price related to what character were talking about. I'd really like to have a Nappa but he's not worth excessive amounts of money for me. And I think that's the problem tamashii faces. The market of people buying lesser characters for premium prices ain't that big.
I don't see how Nappa isn't an important character I mean they all fought him and he's what goes with Vegeta. And hey maybe if they make a Nappa they could make a Chiaotzu and one of his accessories could be a torso of Nappa that has a sculpt of Chiaotzu attached to the back. If that came out say at the same time as Nappa are you really going to tell me no one would buy Nappa?
He's Vegeta's lackey, that's his entire character summary. Also, it's the simple scale effect DBZ's format is based on that, if a lackey is that strong (beats all the z dighters except Goku), imagine how strong Vegeta is! Now if Goku can take him out with one punch, IMAGINE HOW STRONG GOKU IS! *drool, drool* Now Goku is gonna fight Vegeta, ooooooooh! O__O

Dear sweet God I forget people actually pay that much for SDCC Goku and SSJ Vegeta. I don't think I could bring myself to paying that much. It'd kill me. I just don't see these figures as worth that much, due to the size and varying accessory count.
Here is my 2 cents on the nappa situation. First off this is a line for collectors meaning if a figure is over 80$ will be fine with most that collect this line. tamashi has other figuarts the same size as goku and they cost 80-90$. if people are willing to spend 250-300 on sdcc goku or 150-200 on saiyan saga vegeta then it shows this line is for serious collectors.that being said if they realease nappa the same year as their most anticipated figure(normal goku) they'll make their money back just with goku sales.id think a nappa with armor is the better choice for around 85$and if it sells well maybe an sdcc exclusive. That is if the haven't figured out a way to remove the armor which I think would be their best option.might not look as clean from certain angles but it gives us the option.
This. I'm a big supporter of this line, but there is a limit.

I sincerely doubt this for a lesser character. We don't get to speak the whole market and look how many are at the very least ambiguous about it here! I think people over estimate this. If this was so clearly the case, then why do Tamashii themselves doubt it!?
That's after market price, because people missed out on main chars. Raise your hand, who's willing to pay high prices RETAIL, for a LESSER CHARACTER? I don't think that'd constitute even a tenth of the entire market.
I doubt Tamashii thinks this way. You make a product to profit from it, on it's own. If there's reasonable doubt Nappa will sell enough to reach the black, I highly doubt we'll see him, regardless of who his fellow releases are that year.
Btw, kinda interested to see, we could make a poll (a real one with computed tallying) asking what the price limit is they'd still buy Nappa for?
He is not a lesser character in everyones book. He was vegetas right hand. He killed a few z warriors and caused havoc. He is one of the few remaining saiyans.
Not all companies worry about making a lot of profit on a figure or two. Especially tamashii which is probably sells the most 1/6 figures. For example I collect hot toys. At first they weren't going to make avengers hulk because he would be huge and they couldn't sell him over 300. They ended up making him and sold for 299. While most hot toys sell for 199. They even said they weren't going to make any money from it but did it to finish the avengers movie line and for the fans. I know hulk is a major character but im using the example to show companies can take a hit from one figure.
Also we all bought sdcc piccolo at 80$ as well I don't consider it after market because we couldn't get it unless you live in san diego. and toy arena sold it at that price and bbts. So people paid 2 times more then original piccolo for a re color. Like I said if the figure comes out good people will buy it. If you say I wont buy it if its over 80$ and he comes out looks great and is 85$ youll cave in and buy it. That is if you collect every character or like nappa enough.
