It also won't grow either though. There's going to be new people getting into the line every month. Right now, all the Saiyans and Piccolo are above retail price. Newcomers aren't going to want to get into this line if they can't get the main characters. Scouter Vegeta and a reissue of SSJ Goku came out last year in May 2013 and sold out. Perfect Cell, arguably the most popular villain, came out in 2012 and you can still below retail price. They need to get more figures out a year, so they can help both people.

Oh and to answer your question Crisis: Simple, they went nuts! I just said that, just to go on my "I really want Majin Vegeta" things. I didn't know if that was aimed at me at all. It's not ending for years. Hopefully when the Boo Saga starts up in Kai, it gets even a bigger spike in popularity! You already can see more and more reviews of Dragonball figuarts every week!

Looks real nice, I might get some of these FiguartsZERO though I wish they were more different from the Figuarts, like how Goku has battle damage.

i started collecting these beginning of last year... and the prices then were reasonable.. highest i paid was for vegeta ($80ish) and Piccolo ($75). now these prices are ridicilous... if i started now.. i dont think i would purchase them for the price theyre going for...

If they make Majin Boo, it wouldn't happen, so there's no point in even saying, "I hope", but I want them to make the Piccolo/Gotenks absorbed Boo. I like the fat one, because of his character arc and the juxtaposition of his childlike innocence and his brutal destruction, but I love the Piccolo/Gotenks absorbed Boo. He reverted back to being like Superboo, when he absorbed Gohan and got stupider. I loved how his voice reflected increased strength and the cocky "superheroic" gloating of Gotenks (who by the way, I never could stand) and Piccolo's intelligence. His voice is so awesome! I also love how his fight with Gohan was almost shot for shot Goku vs Vegeta in the Saiyan saga, where they first stand off. He has my favorite villain line in the series:

Gohan: [gets into a fighting stance] Now I'll show you why my little brother looks up to me.
Majin Buu: He doesn't.

I just thought that was so brilliant and evil.

He gives a great fight with SSJ3 Goku, so he'll have someone to go with too.

The problem with side characters is that people don't tend to buy them without the main characters. The vast majority will buy main characters whether side characters are there or not. Hence it's a simple commercial given that if these things rise up in price so fast the wide access window is relatively small making nee or rereleases of main characters apriority, to cater to the largest crowd. Main characters will keep popping up all the time because it's just commercially necessary to keep atracting people, like Bane said. And with a line this volatile in price as well as DBZ being an older franchise without much inherent current momentum all we can hope for is that it's a descent mix, like an 18 and hopefully 17 after goku. It'll keep alternating, I assume. But if you don't want main characters at all or for a long time, I'm affraid you're out of luck and it's just really easy to understand why.

But even look at people's collections here. How many are buying multiple Goku's, Vegeta's, Trunks', and Gohan's, so they have multiple looks for them to display? Now how many of these collections have you seen with multiple Krillin's, Cell's, Freeza's, and are planning to buy more than one 18? I guarantee that a lot of people here and other collectors will happily buy an SDDC exclusive of Goku's, Vegeta's, Trunks', and Gohan's. I also guarantee very few people will be happy if any of those last figures I said got an exclusive. I haven't bought multiples, because I want different looks for them and none of them are the looks I want for the character, but I rather have one version than none. Same with 18. I want her Boo Saga look, but will get this one, and being that she isn't Goku, Vegeta, or Gohan, I won't pay for a different one. Same thing with Krillin. I would rather have his Saiyan saga look, but now that I bought this one, I'm not buying another. Everyone has a specific representation of a character that means something to them. The Boo Saga is what made me a fan of Vegeta and Gohan. I couldn't stand Vegeta during the Cell saga and was bored of Gohan throughout it, so these looks don't hold much significance to me. Although, because of Battle of Gods and movies like Cooler's revenge, I really want them to re-release.

Just 2 more releases a year would be so helpful. I want this line to be very expansive like everyone! Toriyama is an incredible artist with an amazing imagination!

I honestly think they could say any price for Broly and get away with it. The people that love Broly, LOVE Broly. He hasn't had a lot of great figures that represent his massive form, except the one. I see him as other huge cult favorites as Marvel's Deadpool and DC's Red Hood. People are so hungry for those figures, I've seen many customs sell on average for $300, and those are just 6 inch. I've seen some go for $2000. Once they get a great official release, the demand will go way down.

the only reason customs sell for that much its because there are very few of them made and require a lot more time. Once a company mass produces them including sdcc its not going to be worth no where near as much. Also Sdcc piccolo is still in stock ina few places, but like others have said i dont think theyll do a brand new figure.
