I don't know Deano, I get a different impression from their comments section. Plenty of users are both interested and willing to buy the Mario figure. I'm just saying that DBZ figuarts could benefit similar the exposure, there are still a number of fans who would collect these figures if they knew they existed (we consistently see evidence of this as new collectors steadily jump on the Figuarts bandwagon every year, many of which only haphazardly discovered this line, and not through advertizing)

To each their own, I won't knock anyone for liking. Imo it falls short of the source material in the likeness, and the paint is awkward looking. I would much prefer OoT or TP myself, like Big Deano.

Figma is a far from perfect toy line. You have great figures and not so great figures. Mikasa- great, BotH Guts- not so great, Griffith- great, Link- not so great, etc. Just my personal opinion.

Guts could be better what is your problems with it?

I'm with The_Philosopher on this in hoping that the D-Arts consolidation into Figuarts and Mario release, with it's price point and the way it's being sold with separately purchased accessories, opens up some new doors for the DBZ line.

Im not saying the commentors didnt want the figure, I was just saying that the editor clearly just used the figure to fill news space, as he doesnt seem to know what line the figure is from. Plus the fact that many refer to him as affordable, as he is half the price of a normal figuarts, hence my comment about many thinking figuarts are too pricey.

Im just saying a gaming mag isnt a good place to advertise anything other than gaming related stuff; better to advertise on anime related websites etc for example.

Lol that's true, I bet that many of them wouldn't be interested in dropping $50 for a figure, I bet you're right about that.

But there is a section of DBZ fans that were introduced to the franchise through the fighting games, this community of DBZ fighting game fans are currently present on these gaming websites because the recent release of DBZ: Battle of Z (co-op action game, that got some good reviews) My point is that these guys discuss DBZ games on forums and youtube, and a majority of them know nothing of figuarts, and they are all potential customers. All they need to do throw in images of the figuarts in the 'related products' booklet that comes with the game, and BOOM.

It still bothers me that my friends who visited me, saw my figuarts collection and were shocked because they had never heard of these before seeing them displayed on my desk (mind you they also collected DBZ figures, but stopped when Jakks took over).

The way I see it, if you're playing a video game, or watching an Anime, the company should have done their part in marketing a related merchandise to the consumer. Is their a fan of the Gundam animes' who didn't know about the model kits? I haven't met one. I just want to see Bandai take that kind of care with DBZ :)

You dont expect them to remake the figures do you? Nothing wrong with the old figures imo, infact they are better made in most cases. Yes, the manga colouring is a pain, but they cant rerelease sdcc figures as ive said before.

Yeah I get that, but the Manga colors suck, straight up.. way too dull. and re releasing 2 old figs over something like SS vegeta is borderline enraging

Guys if they are re-releasing piccolo and Goku there's obvious hope for vegeta, everyone have hope and relax it will happen

I agree Wolvie, I think it will happen next year though (or late this year optimistically) because I think Tamashii doesn't want to compete with the bootleg SSj Vegeta's, so they're waiting for those to run their course (just a theory)

And perhaps recognizing the correlation between the Trunks and Vegeta figures, they may want to time their releases together to further boost pre-orders. (just a thought)

Apart from the orange muscles manga Piccolo actually looks a bit nicer to me; the sdcc one, while nice, has too much skin shading.

^ I agree, I kinda favor Piccolo V1's skin tone to the SDCC version. But it's all good, just a minor nitpick, lol.

They painted him like a PAK, lol. I mean, his faces just fell flat. The proto looked perfect, the in hand figure, not so much. He has his helmet though which helps. He's an OK figure, just not as good as he should have been.

I agree. SDCC Piccolo, like the other SDCC releases, just has too much shading.

Ssj gokus re release was for n.america this time it's for Europe and uk , and N. America is gettin them too so who cares lol

oh good, some one who didn't forgot this fact.
Bluefin just felt like restarting this whole line for the EU and UK market. so who knows; gohan and then vegeta may be up next sometime next year (or even this year) :dunno

Pic of my sdcc Piccolo with the scene they based his anime form off. They couldn't have done a better job IMO

The band of the hawk one or the black swordman that one is a nice figure.

thats some amount of colour correction you did there :lol mine is nowhere near that light! A non modified pic would show just how dark his gi is, as well as that shading thats just about visible on his forehead. Not saying hes a bad figure, i love him, but that just isnt a proper representation of the figure.

I dont really care, I have all the Sdcc versions. I grew up on the Anime, so the manga colors are alien to me

To you, but to people who couldn't get the SDCC version (for any number of reasons previously discussed) then he all the sudden looks like gold.

I have the SDCC version, but I'll be getting this one too just cuz.

would you rather have a redo on a crappy picolo or a re release of SS Vegeta..? what would look more like gold to you..? :lol

just saiyan...

I'm talking about the Band of the Hawk version, the Black Swordsman version is superb! Really, BotH Guts is the only let down in the line so far, even Casca looks good. With the Medicom version coming out this month I don't really mind too much anyway. lol.

I wish Medicom would do a new Goku..
