thats some amount of colour correction you did there mine is nowhere near that light! A non modified pic would show just how dark his gi is, as well as that shading thats just about visible on his forehead. Not saying hes a bad figure, i love him, but that just isnt a proper representation of the figure.

lol I just took it off my IG, forgot it had a filter. But it's still a perfect representation of his anime form.

Fair enough. Tbh he would beat out manga Piccolo for me if it wasnt for that shading, particularly on his head, makes it look like hes been left with a bruise after being headbutted

Not exactly. He has his cell era based tunic (the chest v shape was round in his earlier clothing) and say what you will, but most of the time the purple is way darker in the anime. Way darker than pre-cell era actually.

Not too botered by it. F the manga version for me though. Don't like that colour scheme and th manga versions are way to bland in colour. i prefer vibrant colours, even if it does have some more shading.

Manga colored Piccolo is pretty nice looking to me, I agree with most others here that the shading on the SDCC one is too dark that being said I do love my Piccolo but I'm also getting the variant, and as for SSJ Vegeta I can't help but feel he's this years SDDC exclusive, most likely as majin vegeta with an alternative SSJ head ( just my opinion) idk it just seems like Bandai wouldn't just ignore people's demands flat out like that

Both, because that is the most plausible scenario (as was illustrated in this earlier post below...)

I agree Wolvie, I think it will happen next year though (or late this year optimistically) because I think Tamashii doesn't want to compete with the bootleg SSj Vegeta's, so they're waiting for those to run their course (just a theory)

And perhaps recognizing the correlation between the Trunks and Vegeta figures, they may want to time their releases together to further boost pre-orders. (just a thought)

Only issue with that scenario is Bandai wouldnt hold back because of a bootleg... why would they sit by and watch someone else get all their money..? and I didn't miss vegeta, had 3 now down to 2, but would buy more for bashes

This was already discussed many pages back (it was during the bootleg moral debate)
The short of it, is that they could loose money by having their product out at the same time as a lower priced fake, some user who was studying economics chimed in with a more detailed breakdown of how it all worked.

So yeah, Bandai would wait because it's the most tactically sound decision if they won't change their price point to beat the $25 bootleg.

missed that, dont agree with it though, theres been bootleg gundam stuff and theyve reissued before, so I cant see that being the main reason. but what evs I'll just sell my vegetas and wait, make some good coin while I can

Gundam merchandise is mass produced, DBZ figuarts are almost like specialty items.
It was only a hypothesis anyway, I'm just trying to rationalize their choices based on observations. :/

Heck, it could be that they want to reissue characters based on the chronology of the series, who knows.

Could well be the case; with regular Goku sure to become the centrepiece of many a collection they obviously want to reissue characters that will fit with him for newer collectors, hence why im sure ssj Vegeta will come soon since Goku needs his rival.

As you can see, not all of these are Figuarts; I added the Hybrid Action Gotenks and Kid Buu (Buu goes near-perfect with SSj3 Goku, very detailed and articulated so if they never make a Figuarts Buu, I'll still be satisfied with what I got). Custom-built Broly, HQDX Gohan & Raditz (I wish Raditz was taller :/), a set of Dragon *****, and an Irwin Space Pod. What you guys think?

It's awesome man!!

(Also those are HSCF not HQDX, if HQDX make a Raditz though it would be in perfect scale like most everybody they've made)

And a question, is that Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon on a black Tamashii base?

I'm talking about the Band of the Hawk version, the Black Swordsman version is superb! Really, BotH Guts is the only let down in the line so far, even Casca looks good. With the Medicom version coming out this month I don't really mind too much anyway. lol.

I wish Medicom would do a new Goku..

I don't need any other dbz figures. Figuarts is nailing the line and I like the scale. Don't think I'd want DBZ figures any larger for some reason.

Figuarts are great, but they're not perfect. FiguartsZero have better sculpts. Medicom's previous attempts at DBZ are out of date now, and are certainly bested by Figuarts. I think with current technology Medicom could make something that looked perfect though.
