Powered up brolly would be cool for a figuarts figure. Would be cool to do this pose with goku. Also, I included a pic I found of scaling to the powered up (basically ss2 but before the creator invented that power level) with ssj brolly. Don't know if the scaling is true to the series. Just thought it was interesting.

They have some pretty good designs back then, I'd prolly buy all 3 versions of Brollys if they decide to make the SHF version.

I don't know what it is about that first Broly movie but I can watch that thing any time.

I always wonder when the movies take place in continuity. I imagine Broly takes place just before the Cell games, yeah?

Also, that's a PLEASE make Broly, not the other way around.

as for the timeline

Age 767 Exact Date Unknown
Android 13, Android 14, and Android 15 are unleashed. #14 and #15 are killed by Future Trunks and Vegeta. Android 13 transforms into "Super Android 13" but is killed by Goku.[20]
Age 767 between May 20th and the 25th
The Z Fighters are invited to New Planet Vegeta by Paragus. Vegeta is offered to take up a new Saiyan throne but must kill the Legendary Super Saiyan first. Goku is contacted by King Kai about the power of the Super Saiyan. He also goes to New Vegeta. Paragus' son Broly is revealed to be the Saiyan of legend. He is defeated by Goku but survives and crash lands on Earth. [21]
Age 767 May 26th

So if the prophecy was that there was a saiyan of legend, does it actually mean goku was really the saiyan of legend since he defeated brolly? Is that the cool plot twist to make you think it's brolly when it is really goku? It makes sense for the entire storyline (dbz and dbz gt) that goku is the end all be all best saiyan, but I didn't know if that was the intention of the brolly story. Or is it simply that brolly was the legend of saiyan, and goku is so awesome he beat him, period?

Thanks for the timeline, by the way. I always wondered where the brolly story fit in the history and also trunks with his time traveling and all.

Isnt there a prophecy or something by one of the elder (cant remember, might be the old lady fortune teller) that said there will be another saiyajin that will be stronger than Goku, which turns out to be his second son, Goten?

The movies aren't really supposed to be part of the canon storyline the manga/TV anime had anyway other than the one about Gokou's Dad and how future Trunks managed to unlock Super Saiyan.

Although the Bojack one managed to fit in without disruptions.

True. I think the movie about trunks' sword origin fit in just fine, too. In the return of brolly, goku is dead already, so I think they are loosely tired to major story segments alternate dimension style. The fusion movie kind of fit, too with vegeta being dead during majin buu? It's been too long since jive seen those to remember the stories. A majin buu gotenks or majinn buu gohan would be a cool figure with vegetto.

You get a rough idea or whenever it takes place during the main storyline, but it just doesn't make sense for them to 'take time off' in the middle of a crisis to take care of another crisis.

In the manga right before Vegeta self destructs, he asks Piccolo whether he'll be able to retain his body to train like Gokou did, and he says no.

The one with the origin of Trunk's sword doesn't really click together if you think about it. Because everyone else is already dead/weaker than the androids in Future Trunks' timeline, hence none of those events would have taken place, with Gokou being able to turn into SS3 and so forth.

They're fun films to watch though.

Yeah I remember that in one movie (can't remember which) they obviously want Vegeta to be a Super Saiyan even though it hadn't happened on the series yet so they just added some narration at the beginning like "So Goku taught Vegeta how to be a Super Saiyan!" Ya know, while they were hanging out. :lol

I don't mind the inconsistencies, though. IMO it's worth it to see the fights with much more detailed animation.

SS3 Goku looks awesome. However, I wish we would start getting some villains.

Bandai getting lazy again, reusing the Gokou body for this release. Least they could do is throw in the normal, black hair Gokou sculpt:pfft:

Yeah, I'm interested to see different versions of Freeza and Cell. :lecture

I wish I was able to collect the original bandai fighting collection of figures. :(

These are not bad, but I hate how the legs are split up for articulation.

Though I've gotten rid of most of my DBZ figures from when I was a teen and have lost interest in DBZ in general, a figure of Broly or Future Trunks with sword would be hard to pass up.

Which ones are you talking bout?

The old ones where you could only move the arms and take their hairs and upper body attires off. lol

They looked great for it's time. And the remolded ones based off them look like crap.

I'm talking about these:

Why is there orange on the Goku's chest/arms?

I've just thrown out some of them, mainly ones with broken or missing bits, but have also kept some.

I've never seen that Gohan one with black hair and Goku's outfit from the Buu saga though.

Of the lot, I reckon Vegeta, Brolly and Piccolo were probably the most accurate.

My favourite series of old DBZ figures were the model kits where you had to build the core body, and they came with rubber outfits, which looked really good for its time. They even came with the head for normal mode and SS mode.

I'm not sure why their chest is orange. I had a few of these but have long since broken or threw them out when I was younger. There's more in the collection I believe.
