Honestly filler is a given to most any anime. Without it, the story progresses to quickly. Its a necessary evil imo. Look how short dbKai is compared to dbz for example. Filler or not, alot of it did add to the story.

I liked db Kai because it was only strickly content and most of the time fillers are really bad. But if they have to do it I'll watch, keep my mouth shut, and be a happy camper because it's Dragon ball.

I dont mind the slow start or the animation. Cant have a show literally begin and end with fighting. Even dbz started slow. We had Raditz then filler! The animation imo is fine, if people were expecting BoG/RoF quality they are delusional, those were films and had a higher budget.

I never expected the show to start out action packed, I actually do enjoy seeing the characters just being people. Thing is, it just makes it worse since it's just been recaps with slight changes in the details. The script just wasn't good (for this episode, the other episodes were ok). Regarding the animation, it's only this particular episode that was odd. Idk if you watched the episode or not, but the animation style kept on changing, it was just weird. The other episodes so far have been nice, easing us back into the characters building up to the meat of the series. It was just this episode that was so so.

Oh I know man, that wasnt directed at anyone! I do agree on the animation in that particular episode, dont know what they were doing there, but mostly its been what I expect from a modern anime.

I don't mind SOME filler since sometimes it gives more insight to the characters outside of the main plot. Filler also tends to be funny as well (or at least try). Remember, if we didn't have filler, Goku and Piccolo STILL wouldn't know how to drive :lol

It was very reminiscent of the Hitler scene in Fusion Reborn. I found it strange and out of place then same as I do now

Filler is necessary in a lot of animes, but sometimes it's bad. Dragon Ball gets way too much flack for its filler, it's probably why a lot of fights become longer than they should be. If I recall, Goku directly powered up to Super Saiyan 3 against Kid Buu in the manga, instead of going Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, then Super Saiyan 3 in the anime, for instance. A lot of animes do suffer for it, like Sailor Moon imo, though the moonies in that franchise are too uptight.

There isn't really any filler in DBZ that stands out to me...the driving stuff was pretty funny, no lie :lol but everything else, eh, pretty bad. Garlic Jr. and that fake Planet Namek was the worst though, by far. I still prefer the original anime over Kai though, Kai had some worse writing, awful music, Gohan's terrible new voice actress, and lacked at times. Honestly, I could forgive Kai if it at least had a good soundtrack, but it's probably the worst anime OST I've ever heard in sometime since it's too generic and lacks an identity to go with Dragon Ball.
i agree about king kai

Warning: the following message is in an immature vent towards tamashii's sales manager.

**** you! ok? **** you for once again releasing vegeta without nappa! yes im talking about the tamashii buddies....
Y u do dis? y u playing with my heart like dat? show a product then place it in the vault? Especially with nappa!
Y do you think that he wont sell? i knew this was coming though, cuz he was no where to be seen in any of the recent events...
but since they always get released in a pair, who are you gonna pair him up with huh (if he's coming)? you could've paired nomal goku with anyone.
i guess i wont be able to create a scenario i had planned with someone. thanks tamashii [sarcasme]you're the best toy company out there[/sarcasme]

I wish you would edit your images so they appear a lil smaller. but it's obvious you're posting through your phone so I don't think you can make em smaller anyway

haha, to each their own. i grew up watching the Ocean Dub in the late 90's so obviously I feel it's the best, whereas others feel the later versions are superior. everything's relative.

I grew up with the Funi dub. The rock soundtrack in DBZ was killer.

No you're not. Bruce Falconer sucks!

Buu disagrees. One of the best themes. Then there's Vegeta's themes, SSJ3 theme, too many to name. Japanese soundtrack is too kiddy sounding imo and just doesn't have any oomph.

No...that doesn't cut it. Sounds like a circus track on loop.

You realize the japanese score literally DOES sound like Circus music? To each his own, but the japanese score does dumb down the more awesome scenes to me. I STILL get goosebumps listening to vegetas funi theme, but japanese? nah, doesnt do anything for me.

The ONLY theme that Japan does right is Cha la head cha la. Thats the only one I will give you :p

I think it fits the character of Buu perfectly. Childish, but insane and terrifying all at the same time. The SSJ3 theme may be my favorite though. The buildup is perfect and matches up perfectly with Goku's dialogue and how he dramatizes his transformation. The soundtrack isn't perfect but it just fits the action and atmosphere of DBZ so much better than the Japanese soundtrack imo. The wackest Japanese track is the interlude between commercials. It has no spirit at all. Rock and DBZ just goes together like peanut butter and jelly.

Just cuz it's the original, doesn't mean it's the best.

But the Japanese score uses philharmonic instruments. Something that the Falconer score is sorely lacking.
