It retcons A LOT if you think about it. Looking back at past events in DB and DBZ and comparing it to now, many things just wouldn't make sense anymore. To keep everything in check, I can write this off as follows:

After the wish was made to erase everyone's memory of the Buu events, Shernon took it a little further and the knowledge of supernatural and spiritual things went with it. As for why there aren't any more animal people or strange creatures anymore, Hercule and the Z-Fighters came to the conclusion that they need to only have humans on the planet since they're weak and pathetic, hence maintaining peace on Earth. Buu was then required to essentially "cleanse" the Earth and went on a mass genocide, eliminating all traces of powerful beings (animal people and dinosaurs), leaving only humans. This was Buu's initiation process into the Z-Fighters and he was then accepted as one of them

See Toriyama, this is the bulls**t I have to come up with to explain these damn inconsistencies

Goku would never let the z fighters and hercule do that. And they never would. This means oolong would be gone so would the dog that works with pilaf, puar, and korin the guy who makes senzu beans.

I hate that deus ex machina ****. It's lazy storytelling. I agree that the anthropomorphic animals was one of my favorite parts of DBZ. It made the world feel more unique. But Toriyama did say the only reason he drew animal people in the manga is because 1) He got tired of drawing people who all looked the same 2) They're easier to draw.

So, yeah...

Not when there's videotape of aliens crash landing in a city or fighters levitating during the World Martial Arts tournaments.. I'm just saying, from a practical standpoint, ki should be common knowledge on the earth of DBZ, however I realize watching the citizens reactions of Trunks/Goten/Vegeta is for pure comedic intent on Toriyama's part.

I mean, Gohan did write a book about it... But that's no longer canon I guess, huh?

If people are thinking about making a new thread for more varied discussion, why put more walls up by limiting it to specific figures? These threads already exist. If youre talking about combining multiple subjects why not just take it to the sandbox where the discussion doesnt have to be limited?

Because I for one am not interested in a general thread for anything. I want some idea of what I'm gonna wade through if I'm gonna follow a thread. It'll also become a mess, and won't be convenient at all for people who want to have a place where all import figure collectors can be reached. Also that thread does NOT exist. Certainly not across brands. There is no thread to my knowledge that merges all import action figure collectors into one place.

No offence meant, but I don't have a desire for a thread where two people are talking about what they ate last night, or which show they watched, to name something random. I go to a thread for a designated demographic. If the designated demo is 'pretty much anyone on this forum who feels like it, about pretty much anything', I have no inclination to visit that...

Another thing I just remembered, in BoG, Goten was shocked when he first encountered Pilaf, he had no idea what he was. I think he called him a monkey (and in turn, Pilaf was shocked when he seen Trunks leap several feet in the air over them, like he had never seen ANYONE do that before). In Super, however, he has no such reaction & treats him like everyone else.

Uh as far I understood Pilaf was just shocked there was anyone in the house let alone someone who clearly comes off as powerful in comparison to him...

It might've been a mistranslation cuz when I first watched it over a year ago, it was still subtitled. But I recall Pilaf, after seeing Trunks floating in the air, saying something along the lines of "h-how did he do that??"

Goku spared Pilaf, Shu, and Mai's lives cuz of their history together. Korin, Oolong, Chiaotzu, and Puar are obvious exceptions cuz Yamcha pleaded against it and the Z-Fighters felt bad, except for Vegeta. Vegeta wanted it to happen just to see the look on Yamcha's face as Puar begged for mercy. He's a sadistic bastard

Now that I think of it, in the last couple episodes I haven't seen humanoids like walking on earth other than humans (talking when we saw Krilin as a cop and Trunks-Goten looking for a present for Bulma). I quite enjoyed the early DB series where everything was mixed up! In fact, one of my favorite characters is the Rabit gangster.

It really does complicate things since the series is kind of founded on how their is energy that can be harnessed by anyone (ki) and dinosaurs and animal baddies have always been a thing. Now to suddenly eliminate that presents a problem with the DB universe itself. The first bad guy Goku ever fought was a talking dinosaur lol. The World Tournament is filled with these forces as well and even the Earth itself is ruled by a bearded dog. A lot of Dragonball itself is founded upon this and DBZ just treats it as established fact. We can just ignore it and call it a day, but it just adds to the long list of inconsistencies already present.

I also miss the Mummy, the Devil, and the other types of supernatural beings they used to fight in the original Dragonball lol Imagine if that Devil guy, who can defeat enemies as long as they have a little bit of bad in their hearts, went up against Frieza and hit him with a blast
