Every Vegeta should come with cross arms. That's his signature pose. I'll gladly trade the Final Flash hands for a pair of crossed arms

I'm pretty sure at the very least, the hands from the original SSJ and Scouter Vegeta will match color wise, and probably wouldn't be that noticeable otherwise, so we could have gotten the cross arms. I'd take them too.

I didn't respond earlier but I like your idea for displaying them, Premium being better for base, and so on, that's something I've thought about too.
Ironic how they could put the time effort & resources into creating a full-sized Nappa prototype with no intentions on releasing it, yet couldn't be bothered to create proper folded arms in time to reveal their SSGSS Vegeta proto
There's so much wrong with that Vegeta proto already. I don't get Tamashii at times, ****ing weirdos.

I could be wrong, but I'd say quite simply: PR. The line's blown up, recreating the over 9000 moment was brilliant PR years ago, but they don't need that for a freakin movie that just came out. No significant amount of people will buy ssgss vegeta just cause they showed of the folded arms, so why would they bother?

That's sort of what I've always kinda... 'not been a fan off', tamashii shows off stuff to make people buy what they have for sale, even if they use figures that are itself NOT for sale, nor possibly ever will be (again).

Yep, Sils right. Although the line expanding is amazing, it also means they dont need to show off as much. Thats possibly why sdcc this year was so bad. They dont need to "shout" about their product anymore, people will find them on their own.

what I was trying to say was that they tried emulating the cross-armed pose in the prototype photo (which looked awkward), so why not just actually ya know, create folded arms for that one shot they were trying to achieve? It makes no sense in putting in the extra resources into figures that won't be released even just for display only, they could've gotten away with making them Zeros instead of articulated prototypes especially Shenron

Yeah this year's sdcc was ridiculous, genuinely.

@crisis No I disagree, action figure collectors are very prone to seeing figures being combined. Making 1 proto is nothing to a company in terms of expenses. Putting a nappa zero in there would've looked bad. They needed hype back then, coming off a line that was cancelled.

Actually that nappa proto looks bad if you look at close up pics.

The point is whether it repays itself. Creating hype repays itself. That is the whole basis of advertising. You don't advertise if you've already got the buyers convinced. The amount of people NOT buying vegeta because he isn't shown with folded arms is insignificant, so going through the motions to add that doesn't repay itself. + It's just more accessories they could lose. Having just 1 simple figure, no accessories is much easier to send out and tour around.

They can't be bothered with putting extra effort into stuff that doesn't show a monetary return. It seems that simple to me.

I'm not just talking about Nappa, but Shenron and SS4 Goku as well. I don't see how making Nappa as a Over 9000 statue would've been worse than making him an articulated figure. They could've made Shenron a giant statue set piece for their grand display like they did with the Capsule Corp spaceship, Frieza's spaceship, etc. They made Sigma from MMX as a Zero when they could've easily made it articulated (same with the Vile Ride Armor)

If they can create a Nappa from scratch to build hype for Vegeta & Goku, then why didn't they also create a Raditz to build hype for that Goku & Piccolo Kamehameha/Special Beam Canon display? Can't defend Tamashii's logic when we're all essentially clueless on what their logic is. It makes more sense that they make these decisions just by flipping a coin.

The goku piccolo special beam canon is from before the line was canceled, it was catering to japan who prefer heroes, and its freakin goku. Goku needs no hyping and goku hyped piccolo.

It's about hether it NEEDS hype. At sdcc the over 9000 display was a massive "look at what we can do" capitalising on the meme to CREATE hype, because there was little for a line that had been cancelled. Also action figure collectors wanna see action figures, that simple.that's why they don't mix zeroes and articulated in displays.

Now I agree wirh you regarding what tamashii shouldve done from a fan pov, but from their pov most displays in conjunction with where they were setup and WHEN, is pretty consistent with the factor of whether thy need hyping, at that place, at that time.

The line has taken off in the west and now theyre retrying to hype it in japan, thats why they get the bigger displays. Ssj4 goku was cut for now because of DBS, that clear. Ssj4 goku isn't needed right now hypewise, because the west is hooked anyway and DBS came inbetween. Shenron is just a nasty tease but they used him in japan. They use protos to hype up their products. That seems to be thir buiness strategy. It might suck and/or seem inconsistent from our pov, but from a company with a location based hype strategy, which tamashii seems to have, it actually isn't.

Me and bardoon and few others I think called no new reveals at sdcc and we were right. Why? Because hype: they go by hype building. Sdcc needed no hype building. Sdcc 2015 goku sales is proof of that. It's clear tamashii doesn't do **** unless it's needed for hype = for sales.

Nowwhat my personal opinion of all this is as a fan I've made clear (too) many times before, but from a hype strategy pov tamashii isn't acting entirely illogical at all.

What do you guys think is a fair offer for sdcc gohan loose, Sdcc piccolo loose, Sdcc 2011 goku loose, Sdcc vegeta loose, and Sdcc 2015 goku mint? Someone offered them to me and is open to offers (pardon my redundancy xD)

Guys do you think I should pull the trigger on a U$S 220 Frieza? Or just save the money for a possible "advanced premium color" edition down the road? I've been driving myself crazy trying to make a decision :rotfl

I've been checking ebay and Cell is actually a lot more expensive than Frieza (I'm seeing him hover the U$S350 mark), is that actually like it is? I thought Frieza was the most expensive of the two.

Well if you dont mind knock offs i would say wait for the datong version. If you really want the official I did see one with a starting bid for 150, i think if you can shell out the cash 150 (still ridiculous imo) but 220 sounds too bad XD Personally, I am waiting for datong.

Yeah, I guess thinking with a cold head waiting for either the Datong or a possible Advanced Color Version is the best thing to do, what makes the matter worse for me is that Frieza is such a little guy that I feel so bad spending that amount of cash on such a light and small piece of plastic :lol I mean I could spend that kind of cash on a Hot Toys figure which I also collect and they're far heavier, sturdier and bigger :lol

Or you could get Vegeta from Toyzinthebox where unlike eBay the prices won't be ********.
