I see a lot of similarities between Zamasu and Supernatural's Lucifer! Zamasu/Lucifer rebel against Gowasu/God because they're told to bow down to mortals/humanity. Beings that are broken, flawed, and disrespectful. Their mission thus turns into cleansing the world of the imperfections. Both Lucifer, using a human vessel done by permission, and Zamasu, using Earth's Greatest Defender as his vessel, to accomplish it.

Well done, misterW! I'm seeing this Saga a lot differently now! :hi5:

haha glad you share my view now XD

@crisis i think that just fueled him to think that all mortal beings are the same no matter the planet, that there is no hope for any of them to be anything more than barbarians that destroy. He thinks they start off primitive and barbaric and even thousands of years later are still the same to him hence "no hope". Basically, he created a blanket statement after a few observations lol I guess he's being racist? :lol

b-but i still don't get it. In the beginning of the saga Zamasu still had doubts, so he and Gowasu travelled to a planet in their universe and observed a barbaric alien race, that obviously wasn't human. He concluded that there was no hope for them, so what does that have to do with him destroying humanity on earth?

His doubts and hatred weren't only towards humans at first, they were against all mortals. Zamasu was skeptical about mortals to begin with given their history of violence. It wasn't until he met Goku where Zamasu had a clear, perfect, and personal mission of eradicating humanity. Zamasu was disgusted by Goku's disrespectful nature towards gods and kais and created a personal grudge against him.

Edited: My mistake. That wasn't the moment that Zamasu became infuriated with Goku. (Edited: Maybe infuriated isn't the correct word. Interested or obsessed? Because then he went to see Zuno to learn all about Goku.) It was while watching the Universe 6 Tournament when he found out that Goku, a mortal, achieved and harnessed god ki.

One other tihng that confuses me is why does SSB feel like it's not that strong anymore? Back when Goku was fighting as an SSG against Beerus, the universe was about to implode and now it seems like the fights are all basic af. It's stuff like this that keeps me up at night lol

The term "human" in Super isnt the same as our term for it Crisis; in Super, humanity is mortals as a whole, not the human race.

Whenever Zamasu mentions the word human, he isnt talking about just us, he means every entity that isnt a deity. Its also said that black has been to many planets before Earth and destroyed them, Earth was just next, and would have been wiped out instantly if not for Trunks and black finding sport in fighting him to get stronger.

Honestly I hope the english dub changes it to mortals since the whole "humans are mortals" thing is just weird. Is it a Japanese thing?

i feel they introduced SSB too early. Goku & Vegeta should've stayed as the red-hair SSG up until now. SSB should've been unlocked at like the near end of the series, as the true final transformation.

The "wow" factor of all these sudden power-ups no longer exists. Goku going SSj for the very first time, or when Gohan unlocked SSj2 for the 1st time, were moments that can never be reproduced unfortunately. They could've done so with the SSB transformation, but they blew that chance

Aside from SSRose we'll prolly see a couple more transformations b4 DBS ends, perhaps with purple hair or green like Broly. but like I said the wow factor won't accompany these reveals anymore. At least for me

Beerus up on Barnes & Noble. Hopefully they start to offer these figures closer to Amazon's schedule.

Very true. The SSB transformation wasn't exciting in the least and not memorable at all. Now they seem to have dug themselves into a hole regarding power levels so they seem to have to retcon certain things to compensate (ignoring the universe destroying punches for instance). Can't wait to see how they'll handle SSJ Green, Purple, and Orange [emoji52]

Yeah the transformation wow factor is gone. SSJ3 and SSG were debatebly the last times it had anything. There was build up to those...SSB had nothing. Then SSR had nothing either. The design is another reason since it's a literal recolor of SSJ. Nothing else, at least change the style to resemble SSJ2, 3 or something else entirely

If we had green like Broly, it'd be cool if it made the user just like him or something.

Hate to bring up the XenoTrunks/Future Warrior stuff again but that was great discussion among one of the more civil spots on the forum. Respect to all my fellow DB fans even though we disagree, at least we can openly and maturely discuss. We all agree that we LOVE Dragon Ball! :)

One thing I'd like to sprinkle in is that this line isn't exactly like Kamen Rider or Ultraman or any of Tamashii's other more "prominent" lines in which they release several new figures every month. Dragon Ball gets about what? 4-6 S.H. Figuarts releases a year (not including Figuarts ZERO stuff)? So that's already two slots taken for the year since it looks like we already are getting Battle Damage Gohan and PCE Cell earlier in the year for the "first half".

------

All these potential different Super Saiyan colors are reminding me of the recent Green Lantern stuff by Geoff Johns where we have MULTIPLE Lantern Corps. based on colors along the visible spectrum. And while it "makes sense" within the context of the DC Comics Universe (where now we have the Sinestro "Yellow" Lanterns, Red Lanterns, Blue Lanterns, then Black Lanterns, etc.") ...they have to play it off a little better in Dragon Ball to actually make it notably "memorable".

Even Super Saiyan 4 in GT had a decent build-up to the form.

thank you for reminding me, if anyone of us brings up any plothole that ever existed or will ever exist, this is the #1 answer to those questions:

"Blux Waves from the moon" :lol

I disagree. Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue, especially the latter, came at the right time. I enjoyed the Buu Saga but that created too many alternative scenarios for the Saiyans. Great designs and concepts but Super Saiyan 3, Fusion, Majin, and Ultimate were all useless in the end. They were only used as plot devices rather than the awakened power that was needed to defeat the enemy. Such as, like you mentioned, Goku's Super Saiyan transformation against Frieza and Gohan's Super Saiyan 2 transformation against Perfect Cell. (Two of the best moments, specifically the latter, in Dragon Ball Z and all of anime for myself. Absolutely no denying that.)

One of my favorite moments in Battle of Gods is when Goku went through Super Saiyan, 2, and 3 transformations only to be taken out by Beerus after two hits. That immediately brought everything back to ground zero. It took the natural evolution of power that's been the foundation for most of Dragon Ball Z to an introduction to higher beings and characters. Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue were used as that doorway for the main characters*. An important aspect about Dragon Ball Super is that it's focused a lot more on interactions and technique rather than awakened power. Which very well could be why the "wow" element is missing. It's a different dynamic from Dragon Ball Z but it's fleshing out the characters' personalities and their abilities.

Don't forget Adam Newman stated that Tamashii Nations has huge plans for their Dragon Ball Character Categories for 2017. Rather than the "first half" of the year, we're looking at more of the "first quarter" of the year. 4 S.H. Figuarts and 1 Figuarts Zero EX releases is very impressive and an improvement for the "first quarter" of the year. Could it slow down? Possibly but we won't officially know until the schedule is completed. While I understand the frustration and disappointment, I say it's too early to think that Xenoverse Trunks and Time Patroller are "taking away" from other potential release slots.

The benefit that the Emotional Spectrum of the Green Lantern universe had was that it was able to develop and expand each color through multiple story arcs. If Toei takes the time to expand the meaning behind Super Saiyan Rose, I think it would make the transformation a lot more memorable.

Goku's Super Saiyan 4 transformation is actually my 2nd favorite moment in Dragon Ball story line. I still consider that to be the true, definitive Super Saiyan transformation.

SsjB doesn't destroy the universe because Goku learned how to fight at equal velocity to his opponets. Its mentioned during the Beerus fight.

As for time patroller at least he should also have a ssj head.

Beerus up on Barnes & Noble. Hopefully they start to offer these figures closer to Amazon's schedule.

$52.95 for Beerus and Trunks. Yikes. But there's a 20% for friends and family going on right now. $45.85 after tax. Not the cheapest I've seen. They go for $40 often on eBay.

Xenoverse Trunks, Time Patroller, Yamcha, and Tien have been revealed at NYCC. Working on getting photos.

I absolutely love how each figure has updated articulation!
Tien is one of the best prototypes I've seen.
Time Patroller is looking awesome!
Yamcha is looking a little rough, definitely needs some work. I really like what could potentially be the new Goku body.

Edited: Post as many pictures as you can, NSJ23! I don't think we can get enough of these!
