The animation is pre-animated for the teaser and not for the actual movie. Everything is in pre-production stage and they won't start the animation process until later in the year.

Just out of curiosity does anyone have all the z fighters? Do you have a group shot? I'm trying to think of good posing ideas.

DBSuper HAS to be different from Z because it's normal after 18 years! Everything/everybody evolves, and Super for me has achieved A LOT of GREAT moments that are already history of DB as a whole.

Couldn't agree more! From Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, Universe 6 Tournament, Future Trunks, and the Tournament of Power...there's so many memorable moments.

I'm actually more hyped about Dragon Ball Super S.H.Figuarts than Dragon Ball Z, at the moment. Dragon Ball Z is very iconic and there's specific scenes/stills that stand out above the rest. For Dragon Ball Super, while there are specific scenes/stills as well, there's so many action sequences that I just can't wait to recreate.

:rock Absolutely love that theme music. :rock

Do they serve water at burger king?

DBS Goku feels eerily like his TFS version. I'd almost think they actually took cues from it because TFS def revived DBZ's popularity I'd say.

On dbs:
What's the best saga of DBS? Black, easily. What DBS needed was more good ("good") villains, that simple (or tough) I think. Jiren's too little too late, the tournaments are cool but the DB tournaments actually had two villains that both had engaging backstories and became two of the most beloved characters of the franchize. DBZ had less interesting villains, but they were chronologically: Z's Piccolo and a saiyan rival to goku, *the* tyrant evil dude of the franchize leading goku to his most iconic moment, the culmination of the red ribbon army that emphasized the next generation AND the idea that there's something even beyond a ssj, and finally, basically, DB heaven and hell edition.

As much as DBZ gets crap, overall, that's a good progression of main events. If Buu was centred around evil, and hell attacking heaven, Black was centred around heaven's corruption itself, and reaching beyond timelines. And that's about it. Super offered nothing else truly. There's no true real new villain concepts and situations. If there's one it was Hit, which imo they should've expanded upon before even thinking of going into even more massive power-ups and transformations.
Super should've had a Universe 6 saga, and Hit having more backstory and actually needing Goku's help against some insane lunatic. Hit was seen in urban areas there, it could've been something a little more intricate with Goku having to also protect people for once instead of fighting in empty areas.

That's my take/idea on it. DBS was surprisingly fun to watch but ultimately hollow and added nothing new except the idea of a God gone rogue and a few moments we fantasized about as fans after Z. And it definitely could have, as I said I define the central problem as lacking good, clear villains/antagonists and new situations in which to deal with them.

I loved the Goku Black arc at first but it just becomes a big mess when they head back to the future for the final time. It also possibly has the worst ending out of any DB arc I've seen, and even fans who loved that arc agree it was awful. It's just an okay arc looking back.

For me, even though it's far from perfect, the ToP arc just beats it in many areas for me like making good use of old characters like Freeza, Roshi and 17, the fight choreography, animation, etc.

Goku Black is a great villain but the arc he's in is not imo. I don't consider Jiren to be a villain either. He contrasts well with Goku (Geekdoom did a good video on the philopsy of their fight) in some ways.

The new character from the movie has been revealed. Can't post photos through my phone for some reason. Hopefully somebody else will get to it before I get home.

Edited: My mistake, that's for the new Dragon Ball Legends game.

Yeah, the price of collectibles is very nearly reaching the ceiling for me. I like that the hobby is continually evolving, but it’s hard to justify spending the kind of money these companies are asking now, even if it’s from properties you really like. The prices are outpacing the “value” in a lot of cases.

After the remainder of my pre-orders are fulfilled, I’m probably going to go on a hiatus for a while. I might still pick up a figure here and there, but not anywhere close to what I’ve been doing the last 16 years or so. There are other things I could spend my money on, if I feel so inclined.

Hot toys iron man is going for 400 now. Love the hobby but that is to much money

Then there's the cost of display cases, character stands, etc. It's a gift & a curse lol

Yeah, it’s gotten out of hand. Anime is next.

Honestly, I think the days of delving into all the different kinds of hobbies are over. Well, unless you make really, really good money. :lol

I agree man. I have everything up to Buu ordered, and after him I think I’m going to take a break too. I’m hoping for a piccolo since he’s the last figure I need so I might save up for that. But I think I’m going to be picky about what releases I buy. Might just stick to Z since they’re getting to be so expensive.

Edit:

Quoted the wrong person. But you guys get the idea.
