Because it WAS Empire.

Sorry, I disappointingly enjoyed the film somewhat, but it was just Empire Strikes Back with a reskin. Not a fight starter, but it just grinds my guff when people call The Last Jedi 'new' and 'subversive' etc. Enjoy the film all you want, peoples!

Damn straight. Best Star Wars movie since Empire.

Agreed 100%. I enjoyed this movie on the same level of emotional depth as ROTS and ESB. Just like in those films, the actors got to perform their best and really shine. I cannot wait to have more Figuarts from those three movies especially. When Crait Luke is eventually solicited I’ll make sure to place him off against Kylo.

I didn't love The Last Jedi, but I sure do love this The Last Jedi Luke figure!

I'll never get over how impressive the face sculpts are on these little 6" figures!

I can see how the chase narrative is similar, and there are some unresolved plot points. But how else is it like ESB? I'm just curious, because it didn't seem like a carbon copy to me.

Alright, here we go (deep breath in..)
*opening has Empire/FO, angry at the loss of their super-weapon at the end of the previous film, finding the Rebels/Resistance hidden base.
*Rebels/Resistance scramble to get off world before their base is destroyed, but once our Rebel hero's attempt to make their escape, they can't lose the Empire/FO due to a problem with hyperspace.
*Meanwhile, our force attuned hero has journeyed to a distant world to get training from a legendary Jedi master, who is not what our hero expects. Grizzled Jedi Master refuses to train hero, until a voice from the past sways them to help.
*During training, Jedi master warns hero about a dark place on their land, and to avoid it. Hero refuses this advice, and journeys into dark cave where they're confronted by a reflection of themselves.
*Our Rebel/Resistance friends only hope to avoid the Empire/FO is in a wily scoundrel type character, who ends up betraying them to the Empire/FO.
-Return of the Jedi sequence- Our hero abandons training because they know they can turn the villian back to the light side. Gives self up, brought before Sith Master, cuffs undone via force, shown about-to-be-destroyed Rebel/Resistance friends via window, is shocked/painfully assaulted by Sith Master, Sith Master is then destroyed by Sith pupil.
*Sith and Jedi engage in fight, notable dismemberment, Sith uses Jedi's parentage in an effort to sway them to the darkside with a "Join me, and together we can rule" line.
*Hoth sequence. With salt. (Including our clad in black Sith villian entering rebel lair flanked by Snowtroopers)
*Heroes fly off, beaten, but not destroyed

I know i'm missing a couple of points, but ya. Empire.

In no way am I saying people shouldn't/couldn't/wouldn't enjoy the film, I just hate the "Old fans wanted something new but when they got something new they hated it!!" line.

Rey/Kylo's force interaction was cool, team up fight was awesome (Although they should've joined forces and abandoned both First Order and Resistance), Holdo's suicide run was visually spectacular (although silly), and Leia tapping into the force should've been handled waaaaay better than it was.
As for the future, I'm hoping Solo's cameo is the real leader of the First Order, with Snoke being nothing more than a shill/puppet.

I can see pretty much all your points (though you did throw in some plot points from ROTJ). But the total package felt different, which is probably why some people hated it so much. I personally think all the relationships are deeper and messier (in a good way), and themes of failure and learning are explored more specifically. But TLJ definitely owes a lot to ESB for many parts of the plot.

Yea, I hate it too. Of course we as fans always want something new and unexpected, but that doesn't mean that every surprise is always good.

If I got fired tomorrow from work it would definitely be unexpected, but that doesn't mean I would enjoy it.

I personally thought Rey and Kylo should have joined together after the fight and abandoned both Jedi/Sith and First Order/Resistance. Maybe with the Knights of Ren in tow opposed both factions in an attempt to break the constant cycle of war and war profiteering. Both of those themes were present in TLJ, but seemingly dropped for more of the same Jedi vs Sith, Empire vs Rebels schtick.

But the last thing I want to do is to create another TLJ 30 page discussion on this board.

Anyhoo back to the S.H Figuarts Star Wars thread, just swapped heads with Rey and totally forgot she had a ding on her nose. I'm quite sure one of Harley's heads was the same. How do you fix this? It's warm water or something, right?

Her face is clearly painted. Can you tell whether it’s dirt on top of the paint or the paint has rubbed off? If it’s the latter, then the only way to fix it is to find matching paint and carefully paint over it.

Good write up, but there’s no way it’s the cameo. They consider the cartoons canon and he died in Rebels. Like for real dies. Not fake dies like the first time. :p

None of the above, I just have common sense lol.

They needed the closure for her character arc and they figured "You know what? This 'character' has been doing these things at this point in canon time, so let's kill 2 birds with one stone and throw 'this character' in there for the fans!"

Not only did it make sense for them but it was also fanfare for those who are in to it.

That's all it was. Lucasfilm is not going to touch on 'that character' again nor are they going to change anything that they already made canon.

Hey guys,

First time poster on this thread. I've recently started collecting Figuarts Star Wars after the most recent reveals (really looking forward to the Yoda, Dooku and Emperor figures). I've heard these figures never release on the prospected dates toy sites like BBTS give to their customers. Is this true? Is the Ben Kenobi figure due to release soon?

Thanks for your help.
