Hey guys,

First time poster on this thread. I've recently started collecting Figuarts Star Wars after the most recent reveals (really looking forward to the Yoda, Dooku and Emperor figures). I've heard these figures never release on the prospected dates toy sites like BBTS give to their customers. Is this true? Is the Ben Kenobi figure due to release soon?

Thanks for your help.

Well you first need to.understand all of these figures are made for the overseas market, North America has no distribution for this line. so BBTS buys stock themselves from Japan/HK/China, these figures release on time overseas, but then they need to ship to BBTS so it can be delayed or early depending on all kinds of factors.

That helps LipSmack, thank you.

I appreciate it. I've been looking for reviews from people overseas, in order to find if the investment is worth it. Are you guys happy with the quality and sculpt of the most recent releases? I've become a MAFEX fan for some recent figures, but they are still a small company to produce as massive an array of characters as Tamashii Nations is.

Mafex is actually Medicom toys, a huge company but their product has always suffered QC issues, for star wars Figiarts is definitely the way to go, but playing catch up is going to hurt, id suggest coming to this thread regularily for updates and info on ordering

Also if by "investment" you mean emotionally, yes. If you mean Financially you may be in it for the wrong reasons

@League of Shadows I strongly recommend researching Vader figures. The new Figuarts ANH one, the Mafex R1 and the more recent Hasbro Black series one all have their defenders. And some mod the Bandai modelkit as well, or even switch heads between them all. Vader's a character apparently really tough to nail for these companies but I assume for you like for most he's a holy grail to own. Probably many agree no one's done it perfectly yet. I personally come down to Mafex R1's Vader, which is the only Mafex SW figure among Figuarts I'll likely ever have, especially because almost everything else scales too tall compared to Figuarts.

And yeah, everything Lip said.

You will never see 'that cameo person' on a movie screen again, I promise you.

...Kathleen Kennedy, is that you? Rian Johnson?? JJ???

:lol :lol :lol

This is nothing but a hunch, but I have a feeling that the "cameo" that you are both referencing had plans within the "Spin-off Universe" that LFL just recently put the kibosh on. So it's quite possible that they won't be seen again or at least for a while.

They don’t release on the prospective dates because they are usually a few days EARLY. Figuarts are like clockwork. Mafex on the other hand........

Howard's actually confirmed they did not. It was his choice as the Lord and Miller script hadn't filled in who it was yet. His son is a massive fan, he looked into the EU and saw it fit and felt it was a cool easter egg for fans. That's it. No plans, and as others pointed out, hard to make any.

Still nothing to order a month or so later after that massive reveal. Is that correct?

Yes Lip,

Thanks. (And yes, by investment I meant using my hard earned money on those particular figures. I know there will be no return in the future for figs. I ain't a MOC collector.)

Hey Silrian!

Yes, I got the Mafex R1 Vader, Kylo, Boba Fett and Phasma. I love those, don't think they're in scale with the Figuarts, are they? I really love that Vader!!! (Didn't like the new one from Tamashii)

I've already pre-ordered my Han Solo, Chewbacca (Solo), Anakin (EIII), Luke (TLJ) and Ben Kenobi and bought a Mace Windu. Any suggestions on others that are still available that I should get my hands on?

Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it!

You should definitely pick up the Ep 1 and 2 Obi wans, theyre frequently on sale and really good, also ROTJ Luke is reissuing this month, must have, ANH Luke is also pretty good, then 3po and R2 to round out the crew

Is the TLJ Rey figure worth it? I hated the film, but I'm torn with the character designs. I started to love Snoke as a villain, but we all know what a bum decision that turned out to be.

The Rey figure is fantastic but keep in mind we may be getting the TFA look as well.

So it's whatever you like. Or both

You know, I love this figure, but man did they drop the ball on the accessories. He should have at LEAST come with the lightning rod he fights Rey with, his back he carries with him everywhere and MAYBE the walking stick he was also photographed with promoting the film. The compass is cool, and so is the necklace. But you can't even put it on his neck or hand it from a dio because of the shape. Which at least would let you display it like it was used in the film. He didn't even TOUCH the compass lol.

If you like Rey then yes, hasbros Island Rey is also great and in scale, personally I think it has a better face print
