The only part I liked was Zordon, I think it's a pretty cool effect, I didn't like the usual group gangster shot walking towards camera like badasses, Goldar, while better than the toy, is still too much gold, too awful a design, the zords looked bad, what seem to be putties and are just generic rock men look bad. I love the first 3 seasons of MMPR and I'm a sucker for nostalgia, but this doesn't get me excited, I keep following news cuz I'm interested, but I'm at a point where, I'll check this movie out some day, but I don't really care when.

This has hints of 90's vibes to it.
I guess you may be able to find hints of 90's vibes between civilian powers, edgy alien tech, Kane-y-West and "I'm black/no you're not". The problem is... I don't want to. Too much crap to dig, not worth it.

The cheesy stuff isn't really 90's.

Well the 90's did give us the black dude playing the black ranger thing.

But it never had problems with it.
It never had edgy in-jokes regardin' the skin color or anything.

People these days, man...
I'm surprised no one's talkin' about Billy bein' a Blue Ranger cuz the actor was gay.

which is why I don't like it. The film looks like it's still targeting little kids, much like back then. Don't get me wrong, I loved the OG series way back then, but now could care less. Guyver is my version of power rangers, need a reboot of that series.

Welcome to just about every large budget Sci Fi/CBM film for 40 years.

All these types of movies target kids so they bring their parents along and then go and buy the toys after.

The difference is that "back then" it was laid-back and humanized.

Bring back the zippered suits and **** bulges, eh Riddicky?

:lol

I know what you're getting it. It's Hollywood schlock, but eh... it could be worse. It may be worse.

I would consider PR more like a general superhero genre than Sci-Fi, but I think it makes sense this series would be for that audience, I just wish it wasn't.

It falls in the spectrum of it for sure... but anything large budge that falls in that realm always has to be pushed to kids. Look at Jurassic Park. I don't mind Lex and Tim as much as kids in films nowadays... but in my experience that was the first of it. Although, they were in the novel so...

I loved JP way back then and still do now. It still has serious tones to the film that make it more adult, let alone a good amount of violence. PR never really got passed high school drama situations, and this film will prolly be the same.
