Yeah I don't think people understand what the source material was... it isn't like it set some high bar. It was a glorified PSA show that occasionally had Japanese stock footage of guys in cardboard robot suits :lol

I had some things spoiled that I didn't quite like, but eh... I expected as much for to flip stuff on it's head. Seeing as it's not trying to be the original really at all, I can roll with the new stuff.

I like the way you think. Agreed.

While I appreciate the show for nostalgia, it was pigeonholed into being like the Sentai... where as this has the formula but built from the ground up.

We need more posts, please watch

I will either tomorrow or Saturday. My Wife found it in Spanish...

Chap i'm surprised that you didn't take to Rita considering that her antics were a solid representation of the tv show and honestly once the Zords were charging I didn't see them being any less cheesy or over the top as Rita was.

Rita was just so deliciously evil.

I liked it. I love the original because it got me into martial arts and as much as I like it, trying to re-watch the series was very hard to do. I liked the movie for being different and it really did feel more like a mature take on the show. The only thing that was better about the original is Jason being a martial artist instead of a football player. Actually, I like the original helmets way more too. The mid credit scene got me pumped for the sequel.

I agree that she embodied the TV version of Rita, but my problem was she felt out of place with the rest of the tone of the movie and the Ranger actors. I just felt there was this disconnect. It didn't ruin the movie in the slightest, but if I was to critique things, that would be one point I'd harp on.

I found her genuinely scary. I didn't like the forced product placement scene though.

Forced?

No no no.

This is the United States of them there America.

Forced would be had there been no product placement in the movie, that would be forced.

Product placement is as american as apple pie, sadffleck and laughevans.

I just finished Aftershock....and the only thing "shocked" tonight was my toilet after taco dinner.

Aftershock was a big let down. :(

What is aftershock lol

It's the comic book continuation of what happens after the movie.

Long story short, you didn't miss much. I can post if you want to know. I'm actually saving everyone $15, so I probably won't post spoiler tags, if I do. :lol
