I'm a bit too old for this, as I was around 13 when they first came out, but I do recall all the hype around it among younger kids. Seems like a good fit for the current Michael Bay-influenced nostalgia romps like Transformers, GI Joe, and Ninja Turtles, even though I can't stand those films.

In like 1990 I was at a Car Ford which was the back in the day equivalent of a Wal Mart. A kid snatched a RGB Slimer figure right out of my hands. The one that came with the little pizza. I searched for another 3 years and never found another. There was no internet to order one from, that was it. Will never forget that.

You're bringing on a flood of nightmarish experiences trying to find all the 1984/85 GI Joes in 1987, with almost no luck. One of the first ever things I bought on eBay was Zartan.

yeah just thinking about it now it makes me realize how awful teachers and people were. Anything different or strange was automatically satanic. Even street fighter was consider satanic because they said Blanka represented the devil

I remember even as I was little laughing at grown ups for being so stupid, I remember feeling embarrassed for them, and i was just a little kid

don't even get me started on mortal Kombat.... that was like the Antichrist coming to life

With my school it was harry potter and rock music (for some reason). Im telling you these people did not like harry potter. They gave the whole school a packet one day on why harry potter was evil and why you shouldnt read it and all these bogus stories on how it will make you practice witchcraft. Couple years later and you dont see me sacrificing a chicken to a fire lol.

I think the studios are very consciously trying to time it so the nostalgia bug is at its peak. Transformers was 2007, and this should be maybe 2015/2016? 8/9 years apart. Transformers were introduced in 1984, and Power Rangers in '93, so kids into Power Rangers at that point should be about the same age as kids into TFs when that film first came out. Ninja Turtles is a bit late to the game, based on that strategy.

Me too! Parents were complaining about their kids spending insane amounts of money on them, so my school tried to shut it down. I actually made some serious cash off of those in middle school. I remember one kid tried to trade me his bike for a Charizard.

Street Sharks were awesome!!!

They were like the Ninja Turtles of sharks.

Wonder is HT would make some rangers? Obviously there's some money in MMPR. Can't wait for this! The show quality was so bad (looking back now that I'm older) that this movie will almost certainly be an upgrade lol

If its a throw back to original series and film i wouldn't mind it. I only liked it as a kid with the original cast. I didn't see any of that other stuff. Delta Force, robots in space, whatever it was.

I wouldn't mind if they made it a bit darker and kept more with the ancient dino warrior theme where the zords are actually gods rather than highschool students trying to pass biology class. But I doubt it.

Seriously though, is this gonna be some lame reboot aimed at kids or will they try to change things around, make it "realistic" and gritty and try to aim it a people like... well, us.
