I actually like Goldar's design. It doesn't look MMPR but none of the movie stuff fits with the original canon. It's a cool design. Now it's just part of MMPR legacy.

You know, when Michael Bay and company reimagined Transformers, it felt like too flashy to most G1 fans, but as character designs, they do, mostly, seem to respect where a simplistic cartoon came from and adapt it to a real world and detailed construction. The Power Ranger designs show almost no connection to their origins and fall in the realm of passing off the Tristar Monster in 1998 as Godzilla.

It's not to say the designs are bad, but to me, they are so departed from the source material it just begs the question of why even call her Rita or him Goldar or go back to dinozords, give the characters new names, make mastadon into Spiderzord.

It's very apparent when a remake/reboot is respectful of the origins or not. JJ Abrahmas respected Star Trek, these guys are ******** on MMPR.

Not everyone liked it, but at least I have the memory of excitement from the trailer about a film that might of been good.

Sadly I slowly die with every new reveal. The film has a lot of work ahead of it to make people accept, let alone like these new designs.

I was waiting on goldar but now f- these designs... he looks like hes melting. Like a wasp that fell into honey... one of the ugliest toys ive ever seen

Well if the rumors are true, and this toy seems to be pointing to that, Goldar is actually made of gold and Rita spends her time in the movie collecting enough gold in the world to revive him. So him being one color makes sense.

The saving grace of this movie is that they might not have cared about the designs but maybe their attention was placed on the action.

I tried to like the new tmnt designs but after all I just gave up. They were ugly and to damn big. The new power rangers look fine but Rita and goldar are totally different from before. it's feels like they were scared to stick to the original source like bay did with tmnt by putting so much crap on them to hide who the turtles were. It feels like that. Hiding them but still giving them the name.
