They didn't use him correctly. I actually kind of liked Liev Schreiber's portrayal of the character, albeit he had some weird things about it, but it was much better than Tyler Mane since they made him into a henchman and not a focus of the story at all really. Shame Origins was just horribly done, but I did like that intro shot of the two of them in all the different wars.

To Sideshow Alex,

I love how there is a theme between Sabertooth and Wolverine, but can we please get an Omega Red as compainon piece?!?

The beginning was great with them running through the wars and then it all went down hill from there. I would love a proper wolverine movie but I won't hold my breath.

Hmm, I actually liked all the scenes between Jackman and Schreiber. Best parts of the movie.

I think a Jackman Wolverine and Schreiber Sabertooth is the best comic fans are gonna get for a while, if ever

This one doesn't seem to be getting much love. I am looking forward to it. I need villains :D

hopefully it teaches SS to not "cheap out" in the future. If you want to do a new sabretooth statue...well, do a new sabretooth statue. Don't rehash/tweak an existing sculpt.

having said that, the 10% off trick works for this if anyone is looking to order (and hasn't used it before).

I like this since its sculpted. Not a fan of the pajamas on the old one. Either way I will gladly add this one to my shelves. One of my few PO's :/

Exactly. Didn't want the pajama version, so I'm getting this fully sculpted one. Reusing the same pose is fine by me.

Same here, I like this sabretooth alot...gladly adding him to the collection to go with companion piece wolverine. Im sure XM and Prime 1 will get around to Sabretooth in the next few years. Hopefully they do the other outfit (ss pajama) so I can pick that up as well.

I'll add my own take on this aside from the critiques of either statue and why people don't catch on fire for modern.villains.

To me the reason why a lot of people aren't giving this love is twofold. One of the first reasons is the original one does not resell well and the second and most powerful observation in my humble opinion is that this character has been so down played in the heroic era of Marvel that villains really do not pose a threat anymore. This dude was so dangerous back in the day people adored him regardless of costume or hated him because he could and would beat the heck out of Wolverine and anyone else that got in his way.

Marvel villains have become the new sad sack of the comic realm. Creed used to hand Logan his butt so much that it became a problem for the character. Abomination used to own the Incredible Hulk. Venom was someone that could just absolutely obliterate Spiderman. These types of threats have fallen to the Wayside of what challenges the old Marvel characters faced when they weren't already challenged by the day to day struggles of being a human being.

Sure do miss Marvel villains.

Good points! I have always loved Sabretooth. I loved when his and Wolverine's fights were THE big thing going on in his comics.

Man, that showdown right before Age of Apocalypse. Both in the mansion when Logan came back to the X-Men and Creed was a member who they treated like Hannibal Lecter. Kept him behind a forcefield at night and when he did come out he had metal gloves and a face mask to keep him from killing. No one else in the house. The intensity that led up to the fight.

It was like watching Ali Frazier, man. Those guys were taking pieces out of each other and it was a bloodbath.

The last fight they had... Death of Wolverine mini... Creed was basically a dog on a chain Logan beat handedly.

Sigh.
