I found the old version of this guy in a local store for $400, I was wondering, is he worth getting? I know some people like the new one better, not sure for which reasons, but that's what I've heard, just curious if the old one is worth picking up.
:dunno Thanks in advance!

EX or Reg? EX yes imo. Are you planning on posing him with the original Wolverine?

I unfortunately don't own either the new or old Wolverine. The only Wolverine statue I will have by next year's time is the Hulk v Wolverine maquette. I was contemplating getting the new Sabertooth because I want some more villains, but I might hold out for hopefully Magneto, however long that might take. This one might just be the regular. I'm guessing not worth it?

As much as I love this piece, I can't see it rising in value in the future. I think you will always have time to decide on this one. I bet your comic store will come down from the $400 a lot. Maybe they will let it go for 200-275. Try to negotiate with them if you want it.

I've had the old and new pair of sabes and wolvie and I put enough faith in the new pair that I sold the older versions when I preordered. The pajamas always bothered me. Headsculpts and claws are great but I think the fabric made the originals look cheap. Even though I would have preferred 90s sabes as a full sculpt to the classic costume I prefer the new statue. New sabes and wolvie are perfect, no regrets on the selling the old pair. I think it all depends if you can live with or prefer the fabric costume.

People keep saying pajamas on the old PF's and that baffles me. I can understand if someone doesn't like the uncertainty of fabric on a statue but Pajamas is a dichotomous statement. Sideshow made statues based on the costumes of the 1990's Jim Lee X-Men people know and love. The X Men wore spandex back then and so did their villains. Everyone wore spandex in 90's X-Men comics for the most part. This fabric is a representation of that era. Before that Superman wore tight and so did Batman. These are also represented on the classic DC lineups Sideshow made.

To me it doesn't come down to making an outfit a flaw... it comes down to which Sabertooth did you grow up with and enjoy the most?

I'll come up with the flip side of that coin. Who in the holy hell makes sure their outfit has fur on their collar and gloves that matches their own hair color? Pre Jim Lee Sabertooth.

If the old Creed is to your liking based on what you prefer get it. If the 90s Creed is what you love get him on the cheap if you can.

In my opinion the Reg head on both is the better head sculpt. There's alot to be said about a character to be smiling that is so crazy dangerous.

Personally, I think the cloth looks cheezy and cheap (like kiddie PJs) on Sabes and Wolvie. I think the cloth used on the Superman and Batman PFs look much better than what was used on Wolvie and Sabes. The cloth used on both Wolvie and Sabes just flat out killed those pieces for me. IMO, they both would have looked much better fully sculpted.

Basically it's personal preference. I passed on the first PF because of the mixed media on it. I don't like it. I like fully sculpted statues ...so that's why I got newer Sabretooth.

I like the newer one better as well.

I never thought I would say it, but I'm preferring fully-sculpted. I think I worry about the long term deterioration rates of the mixed media pieces - especially the lighter cloth colors yellowing, etc.

Heads up to those who don't have this. $70 off coupon. SABRETOOTH15

That's a pretty good discount. If I didn't already have the EX, I'd probably use that.

I agree. This classic Sabes is a fantastic looking PF. It's fully sculpted greatness and both portraits rock.
