I think it was $14 or $16 or something... so wait a minute! That's more than a 3rd of the price of the boxed set of 3 ($40), when it's the second smallest creature... although the price of the other 2 creatures does add up to $40... it just doesn't seem distributed well among the 3... it basically means, if you want all three, buy the boxed set cuz it costs the same as getting them loose, but it comes with the original packaging too...

oh well, he's gone now anyway...

Last week there was one on eBay for $18 shipped. I thought it was too much so I didn't get it.

that's unfortunate, perhaps someone could sculpt a womp rat... doesn't look terribly hard... I mean, well, I guess it sorta does... but I bet someone could do it... perhaps me, in fact, but I'm extremely busy for now, so it'd be a long time from now (month or two at least)... But I might be able to, I could make a aluminum-foil-and-floral-wire understructure, floral wire being for the legs and arms, add tiny bits of clay, sculpt in hair and a few fingers/toes... body would just be a mass of sculpted fur, that'd be super easy... tails could just be clay cylinders essentially, also very easy... now the head would take a bit of work, but the ears don't look terribly difficult, the eyes would be simple (but difficult because of how small they are)... the hardest part would probably be the teeth/mouth... maybe I could sculpt it closed... :dunno

anyway, it would seem silly to have only one womp rat, and 2 in the same exact position would seem silly too...

so if anyone has a SS womp rat, could they tell me how long it is, from head to tails?

Hi All

galactiboy - great looking dewback mate I really like the darker green.

rfr5671 - Awesome mods mate I'm really going to have to give that a go and thanks for the pics.

the dude person - Yeah as soon as I read your post I went straight there and they were gone. People must ESP or something.

I'll dig up mine, I do need the one scratching it's ear. I think that one was the exclusive.

The standard Womp Rat is about 10.5 cm from the tail to the teeth.

If the tail was straight it would be about 6cm, and the body is also 6 cm. The front teeth are 8 mm long.

It's easier to measure the legs using the exclusive scratching rat:

The front leg is 2.3 cm from the body joint to the hand. And the hand is 1 cm from the wrist to the tip of the longest (middle) finger.

The rear leg is very long: 2.9 cm from the hip to the first dog legged joint; 2.2 cm to the next dog legged joint; 3 cm from there to the tip of the claw.

Thanks very much! :D

wow that's a huge rat... :lol

I'll see if I can't sculpt one or two, maybe one looking up in surprise, as if about to be eaten by a dewback...

No worries, dude!

According to Star Wars lore these must be just baby rats, as they're said to grow up to 2-3m long.

And there's Luke's famous quote:

"I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than two meters."

Now that's got to be one nasty rat! :google

Hemble, they've got womp rats on Toy Anxiety right now! I'd grab one quick before he's gone!

EDIT:

oh nevermind, he is gone, did you get him already? If not they still have the creature pack for $40 with the womp rat in it...

The creature pack is usually really chap on ebay, Ive seen them go for under $20 a lot of times.

Ok, I have a question for all you dewback engineers; how would I fix my dewback's tail? I have had my dewback for almost a year but he came to me with a bent and "deflated" tail.

Also, what can I use to blend the joints? I want to try that as well after seen the great pictures in this thread.

Mines the same. IF i decide to do mine i'd slice it ,then stuff it and superglue it, then cover the rest with hot gun glue.

Can you put a small incision underneath and use the expandable foam insulation that comes in a can? Just spray some in, and watch it fill out slowly?

If you can open it up, just stuff cotton in there. The trick is to put enough in there to pad out the indentation and fill the entire void without making the tail look bloated. Then, if you plan on painting it, the cut you made can be covered up fairly easily. Make the cut very clean on the underside so it's easy to disguise, maybe try to seal it with contact cement (as any latex or caulk will eventually dry out and come off).

Hi all

I asked the same question when I got mine and Dorgds suggested news paper I think it was. I went with medical cotton wool, I just made a 4 cm cut where the hole is and started stuffing it until it filled out.

Just about finished my Marmit trooper, when I found this old pair of binocs I made a year ago for a different fig I never finished. I just painted them white and they seem to work well, though not "screen accurate". Now at least I know I can make my own binocs, I have the proper styrene to build them correctly.
I found that I need to order or make a few small parts, then I'll finish up one of my orange pauldron troopers.
