The only point is, a double standard is in place. If this had been the current democratic presidential nominee, that home-owner would be in jail and the media would be all over it. But since it's Sarah Palin, it's completely acceptable to hate on her in the public eye.

Right now there are tons of No on 8 placards throughout West Hollywood and in cars. Tension is high as the polls show that Prop 8 might pass next week -- and Prop 8 would end gay marriage in CA. There are tons of TV and radio commericals for it. And just recently Palin said she wants a US Amendment to ban gay marriage. That did not make her popular in West Hollywood.

I agree there is a double standard, but as someone pointed out, Plain is not part of the race which slavery was brought upon. I don't know if this will ever be forgotten, but slavery is still kind of a touchy subject. This Palin thing simply does not have the same racially charged feeling that would ignite those past emotions and backlash. Not saying either is right, just explaining it how I see it.

I just thought it was funny that a few weeks ago I heard Hannity on the radio railing about Obama's tailored suits. So yeah, double standards for everyone and I am handing them out FOR FREE.

That's because most Americans don't want to work for what they get anymore. Everyone is just getting lazy. I was talking to a fellow the other day and I asked him why he was voting for Obama. His answer was "I have worked my whole life in real estate and paid my taxes so that others didn't have to work. Now it's my turn, and I am tired of working." It's sad but that is what this country is coming to. Socialism only breads laziness. What's wrong with working hard and earning what you get instead of asking for handouts? I guess it's my upbringing but I just don't get it.

Good for you. It makes me happy that here in Cali a lot of churches and some Republican groups are speaking out against prop 8. Regardless of how one feels about the same-sex marriage issue, it's a very bad idea to get into letting government define personal relationships.

If I had my druthers I'd just abolish marriage as a legal concept period. Problem solved. Like THAT would happen.
