Re: Saruman the White

Their reasoning behind the exclusive makes sense but since I'll most likely display it with the palantir in hand, I may change my strategy and not order direct with Sideshow and save some money.

Re: Saruman the White

Just quickly, I've never ordered direct from sideshow before.

I want to flexi? this? Which means I pay monthly installements? Do I pay them immediately or when the item is shipped? Also if I choose to pay all in one, is that when the item has been shipped?

Another rookie question, being my first purchase am I eligible for any discounts etc? Are there any codes I can use?

Thanks for the help in advance!

You pay installments based on the schedule SS gives; the last payment occurs when the item is about to ship. If you pay in one time payment, your card is charged only when the item ship

Flex is a pay monthly scheme and can be very useful on high cost items or if you are looking to get a couple of pieces that are out around the same time. The only down side is if there is a delay in production, which seems to happen a lot, the payments get pushed back as well which can lead to a clash in other payment plans you may have set up for flex.Final payment is taken when item is rconfirmed ready to ship.

A year ago they had 25% off for new customers for about a week, but don't know if that will ever happen again. You can use one of the monthly discount codes, but it won't work on him for at least a month after he goes up for PO. You will get rewards back for your next purchase, but that is about it for right now unless you can wait till a code works on him or order the regular version through a comic shop at a discount.

Re: Saruman the White

I want to get this but it'll require so much custom work to get it where I want it to be. Decisions decisions...

Re: Saruman the White

I really think that this one turned out well. Since I missed out on Gandalf the White, I'm going to skip this one as well. So many great Sideshow pieces coming out this year and all at super-inflated prices. :-(

You can get GTW pretty cheap these days. I would not skip Saruman as they really are not companion pieces anyway. Agree about the inflated prices, but $400 seems to be the new base price for a PF unfortunately.

Re: Saruman the White

So I'm confused. The regular lights up and the exclusive doesn't?

Re: Saruman the White

The more I look at it, the more I'm digging the open hand. Looks like the exclusive is back on the menu for me boys. :lol

Re: Saruman the White

Yeah Palantir should've been EX not the reg

How many times are you going to say that? It was already established why and SS had planned to do just that. I don't mind the EX being the other hand, but would like to have had that "other" piece that was hinted at as a bonus to help justify the price tag.

Re: Saruman the White

Why should it be the Ex? Seems to me most of you on here care more about value down the road than the actual statue. You get both options with an Ex, so it doesn't matter.

Yea, it matters. Most of the time the EX costs more(regulars cheaper from LCS), so we expect something better than the regular. Don't get all high and mighty. Added value down the road is just a bonus and the EX is a good a hedge against losing money should, like many statues do also, drop in value under retail.
