I could always flip flop pay checks and get by anytime after Dec. 19th, but that's the earliest I can do. I'm sure that will be fine since we haven't even gotten a 20 day notice yet. I still don't expect him until Jan. Since there hasn't been a notice.

Exactly, besides I doubt we'll get him THAT early. Catwoman has been on the coming soon section the last 2 Newsletters and her last Flex (at least for me) is December 15

I'll be eager to see in-hand photos of this guy. I'm on the fence. I've been burned by statues/dolls wearing white clothing before... After a few years those pee yellow stains can start forming.

Still miffed they're doing Saruman and not Azog and maybe Thorin, but since this line is (probably) over now I may get Saruman just because.

I'd rather have Saruman than some made up for the movie CGI character like Azog. Just my opinion. Azog is just a longer lasting Lurtz ( only not a real actor ). Made up solely for the movie to give us a specific villain to hate.

Fair enough. Lurtz was a great piece and well done for a made up character. Azog is a book based character though for what it worth.

Azog is not made up. He is a "historical" character who slayed Thror in 2790 Third Age. But I agree, Saruman is more epic than Azog as a character


As a statue however neither Lurtz PF nor Saruman nor Weta Azog can surpass the best PF ever made: Uruk Hai Berserker

Azog's appearance may be CGI but he is absolutely an actor... Manu Bennet, who is also awesome in the show Spartacus.

By saying "not a real actor" you are really just saying he didn't have to go through hair and makeup.

I agree 100%, Uruk-Hai Berserker all the way. Truly one of the best, if not the very best, statue ever.

"Made up solely for the movie" was what they said, which isn't true. He was a character in the books who was given an expanded role in the films. I guess that'd be an issue for strict purists, but...

I'm glad they did "make up" Azog for the movies. He was awesome and we got best of both worlds, Azog and Bolg. I'm not too fussed over all the details of the book to the movie. So long as the movie is good and stays true to the soul of the literature I'm happy.

We should get all three but Saruman is an iconic and important character and its Christopher Lee. He deserves a place in everyone's collection.
