I don't get the hate on prints as Ex. Do people that feel this way not collect them at all? If so they're missing out one some cool stuff from all this that we like.

Personally I prefer having different display options....If I wanted to collect art I'd buy the larger prints from the artist itself.....

I would be much happier with change out arm in this case.

Jerry's art is wonderful for sure and I would be more than happy to have some.

But given the choice, a different display option is my prefered Exclusive.

The sword is not a well known fact in lotr fandom.

There are photos suggesting Weta actually made a sword and there were test shots of an actor dressed in sauron's armor wielding the sword(see picture below).

United Cutlery (maker of lotr replica props) were also planning to release a Sauron sword, so it is quite unlikely that it is a fan hoax/groundless rumour.

What is unclear is whether this sword was meant to be used in the Aragorn v Sauron fight scene or whether it was actually replaced by the mace.

Nah I think some people just feel they rather have a switch out part or light up function rather than just a piece of colorphotocopied paper. I'm fine with prints + other extras as an Ex.

I rather get the larger version of Jerry's artwork in it's full glory than a smaller color photocopied version.

I guess the question is, would you rather have had just a print only for the exclusive version than a light up feature for X-men vs Sentinel #1, Cap's shield/base, Legolas PF skull, Lurtz switch out hand, Urak Hai's berserkers switch out hand holding severed head etc. If the answer is yes, I guess you really prefer prints to other exclusives. What's your answer to the above Josh?

I wish for a different arm to pose but I doubt there will be since it won't be based on the artwork then.
The artwork is great. The pose in it and on this statue is weak and my dremel wont be able to change this mess.

But I don't like getting statues where no matter how much I want the character, (and Sauron is my fave LOTR movie character) when it isn't ticking many boxes for me and customising it will be very complicated, I'd rather not own it than have it sitting on a shelf reminding me of what could have been. I hope to be pleasantly surprised though!

I'm still on the fence bro, that's why I made the poll. I love Sauron as a character but like you, I hate to get statues simply because of that, and then forcing myself to like everything else. I did that with the Morgul Lord PF and he's still sitting in the box waiting to be customized. I may still get him, but if the pose isn't to my liking, I may just get the Ringwraith on Steed PF, display him with Gandalf and call it a day. I'm looking forward to the final reveal too and I hope Sideshow takes some of our suggestions into consideration.

Fair enough I suppose guys. I just got the my first print from Sideshow with Bucky and it was quite nice. Plus having multiple prints already I just like getting them.

I might be wrong Josh , but I can't ever recall where a SS art print wasn't the excl. for a statue.

Well, I guess I'm thinking some pieces have come with switch out stuff and a print. Can't recall if any the print wasn't the Ex on any of those or not.

Yeah, I can think of many instances where both the excl. and reg. versions of statues contained switch-out parts, but it seems to me that art prints have always been a part of the excl. editions, and never reg. editions. There may or may not be switch-out parts with this statue, but I am pretty confident that if there are, they will be included in both versions.....with the art print being the only difference between the excl. and reg. edition. Something which I believe Jerry has already alluded to.
