Based on Chuck's pics, I like it. Something about Sauron is a little weird but I'm ok with the pose. That being said, although I ordered it, I probably won't keep it since I don't do dios (other than maybe the Weathertop one ).

I think the WETA effect may be playing a part in people rethinking what they want to commit to, especially if they are into 'dio' type displays and that is what WETA may be working on.

I thought that too, but nothing is out yet and the prices have yet to be revealed on the Enviroments. IMO, I think the ES of that dio is a bit high, considering how the market is for LOTR and the 'low' interest in this piece. I'll have to cancel and get it for cheap somewhere else. Kinda sad for SS.

It's the choice as well...i would have kept my order if it was Sauron vs isildur, plus Sauron's armour looks sparkling and brand new, rather than weathered and battle worn as weta's - which, before you call me a Weta nut, was Weta's own design.
Plus this might ship the same time as some of Weta's stuff - Smaug, shields and environments - and i wasn't as impressed with this piece as i could have been so cancelled it, like i cancelled my order i had in place with a board member for the ringwraith exclusive diorama.

I haven't seen this dio. in person , but from all accounts those who have seem to like it. I don't expect this piece to be any different from anything else SS does, where the in hand product looks much better than the prod. photo's. Without an excl., no doubt it will be available for 2nd chance, but I don't think a 700 ES is unreasonable as Sauron is a very popular character. I would agree though, the shiny looking armour has to go.....

Am i the only one, who the elements of this diorama are bit lacking in detail?

The armour itself is pretty shiny when you see the actual movie outfit/ armour costume used in the movies.
It's a nice dio and well executed for the size, if it was bigger I would be looking for more detail but at that size it can be more 'hinted' at, if you know what I mean.
Don't forget how much difference a photo can make to a piece, in hand reviews are the real teller!

Wow, already? I cancelled this piece, but I'm shocked at the number of pieces Sideshow has been shipping this holiday season.

From the LOTR line alone, the Shades of Mordor dio shipped, and the Legolas PF and the Last Alliance Dio are set to ship in the next few weeks.

And this is not mentioning anything from the other licenses that Sideshow has.

It would be nice (if a tad expensive) to see Sideshow ship two LOTR PFs back to back only a month apart like they're doing with the Shades of Mordor dio and the Last Alliance dio.

uh oh... just last month my order for the shades of mordor dio and the uruk-hai lsb arrived, paid in cash, then just yesterday i got my legolas pf, boromir lsb and styracosaurus maquette, again paid in full cash. right now i have no idea where i can get the payment for this one if it does arrive here in the philippines a lot earlier than expected. out distributor here gave us an ETA of about april or may, including the deinosuchus vs parasaurolophus dio, and the evil queen pf i ordered. oh my, momma's not gonna be happy if i borrow a huge bulk of moolah again! hehehe
