I woke up this morning wanting to make about three scarecrows from Planet of the Apes. (That would look so awesome behind anyone’s collection!) I wish I had the stuff right now to make them. Making scarecrows would be a fun little side project. :elefant:bunnydanc:elefant

Here’s Frank (Sinatra) in his bit part, goofing off as a mutant.

I think you've finally lost it, my friend... Frank Sinatra...

By the way your Dodge is amazing! It looks so much like him! Dodge is dead though, and is currently on display in a museum.

I also think you may have Taylor's blanket on backwards, although I may be mistaken.

Here’s Dodge at the Tribunal! Impossible you say?

During the hunt, a gorillas bullet actually did strike Dodge in the head. However, due to a previous war injury, that steel plate located at the base of his skull actually saved his life!

Now that dude looks like Dodge! He looks like He just ate and "feels stuffed!:rotfl

I finally lost it? Crap, I just spilled coffee on my new white bunny suit! :anya2

I know Dodge is dead. I was just having a little fun wondering who would challenge me. :lol:rotfl:lol

You are right JJ, Taylor does wear the blanket the other way around most of the time in the film. I switched it to the way you're referring to, but I had to switch it back. It just seemed to hang wrong. If I were to wet it down again, then switch it around, it may have a better chance of hanging right. BTW - I could also put that black ointment on his right shoulder if I did this switch huh? :gun

Well, finding the old Dr. No boots is kind of rare.

:blah:blah:blah I'm hearing excuses. You're NOT even displaying your mutants with their SideShow slippers. (You hate those slippers.) I'm predicting it'll take many years until you get the actual boots you seek for your mutants.

Conclusion - I'd rather you just tell me "no Angel, you can't have them. I'd rather store these mutants in their plastic storage containers for several years than trade them to you." :(

Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes

With “Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes” coming out in the spring of 2010, I watched “Planet of the Apes”, looking for actual events that happened in the film that can directly support the idea of supporting Landon’s unseen story.

My excitement grew as I watched this film and I began to see many ideas & astonishing potential for the upcoming new story. I predict, “Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes” is going to be a film if properly done! I can feel it!:angelsmil

Spill the beans, Angel..

Tell us your ideas on Landon's story. I was also tempted to re-watch "Planet" today for the very same reasons you re-watched it. I am really looking forward to this incarnation of POTA.

“Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes.”

By establishing the facts of our beloved movie, we should be able to make some very accurate “guesses” as to what may happen in the illustrated novel “Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes.”

I sincerely hope everyone will get involved by coming up with their own observations that truly tie the book and the movie together.

With that said, here we go: All of this actually happens (in the film) on the 2nd or 3rd day of Taylor’s capture

Zira learns that Taylor can actually write when she sees the words “MY NAME IS TAYLOR” written in her notepad. She immediately has Taylor put on a leash and takes this exceptional human to her ape dwelling to meet Cornelius. While there, Taylor tells Cornelius and Zira (in written form) that he did not fall from the sky, but that he flew. He makes a paper airplane to demonstrate this and they are impressed.

Shortly thereafter, Dr. Zaius enters their abode with whom? Think about this: Dr. Maximus and two gorilla guards. What?! Two gorilla guards!

Why 2 guards? This wasn’t a friendly drop in visit just to say “hello.” Dr. Zaius had deliberately planned on retrieving Taylor from the abode and was absolutely keeping very close tabs on him as well. According to Zira (mentioned earlier in the movie), Dr. Zaius had been prying around the lab for at least 2 days and that something was really bothering him. What did Zaius know this early in the story? Remember we are only 2-3 days into the story at this point. What was bothering Zaius so much, that Zira would even notice Zaius’ sudden behavior change during those 2 days? Could it be the other astronaut called Landon? Landon is definitely being segregated, but where, and by whom?

Jungle - I'll write a little bit over the next few days... I hope you do also. :)

I like your thinking, Angel. Are you part Vulcan? Your logic is impeccable.

If this thing is ever made into a feature film I think with effects these days they could reuse some existing footage and a minimal amount of CGI to still have Taylor being played by Heston in early scenes up until the Hunt. Landon would obviously need to be recast with the new actor being incorporated into any scenes being reused from the original. If the part of Dodge was expanded in the early scenes up until the hunt that character would also have to be recast.

I also think it is important to keep all costumes and make-up true to the original as well as the exterior and interior sets. Star Trek did something very similar in an episode of "Deep Space Nine" where they revisited "The Trouble with Tribbles" episode from the original series and incorporated characters from both series into the same scenes.

I don't think you could make this movie without Heston as Taylor even if it is a minor role.

I also believe the entire Hunt sequence should be reshot from Landon's point of view.

I am behind all your points 100% JJ, and that's exactly why I'm so excited! If the author of this book is involved with POTA in the way that we are, this could really be BIG!

Keep the wheels turning buddy and share those brilliant thoughts! I’m looking forward to more from you.

:banana:banana:banana

Angel at some point you should look into removing the glyph as Galen never wore one, other than that he is really looking great.

They can do this all right Jungle Jom! Did you ever watch EXTENDED VERSION of GLADIATOR??? That’s exactly what they did with Oliver Reed. He played the aprt of Proximo, the guy who owned queer giraffes, and the gladiators.

Disc II has a segment called “”Shadows and Dust”: Resurrecting Proximo. As you may already know, Oliver Reed had passed away suddenly during the filming, but towards the ending. They had to rewrite the story and Proximo was created through many effects and previous footage, but in brand new surroundings! Incredible! You NEVER would have known without watching this segment. You need to see this! I was blown away! It was much better than that CGI Arnold footage you saw in T4.
