I got my Apes today there super sweet. Having trouble with the back pack thou. can't get it to fit right.

I love them thou there look alive.

Eric

Hey there Eric,

I believe the backpack is supposed to fit around the arms and tie around the waist. It comes already fastened this way so all you have to do is slide the figure through the belt area legs first so it rests around his waist. I never saw the backpack being tied around the waist in the films, and it's hard to guess as the backpacks were always shown from the rear or side profile while being worn. Anyways, this is how my army wears it. Anyone else?

Have, or can you take some pics? Here is an old picture I took using only a flash, at least it kind of shows how I have the backpack on him.

PZ, this is for you...I finally finished it...almost one year from the day I started the project...

Don't know if you remember, but I had to take apart the fingers and re-sew them to fit on my hands. The leather gloves came in XL only. They are available at Apemania for $175...but I think their gloves don't go above your wrist like it should.

Guys guys guys!! I'm so freaking excited!! See this sculpt? Alex Lopez, my current knight in shining armor, is going to be sculpting an ape or two!!! Everybody get in line. I know it will be spectacular!!!

Any word on what character he is going to sculpt?

He didn't say which characters. I'm just so excited that it's going to be an ape or two!! :banana:banana:banana

He said he was also going to be sculpting Charleton Heston...but I'll be all over his apes when he does make them.

So many fun ape things happening for me! Yesterday I received Westbatman's STUFF. I'll post a photo of it tonight. I now have enough dark brown leather for the chimp costumes in case I mess up the ones I got from Feebay...

W.G...I think I have the perfect hair for your General Ursus if you want to rehair him. It's kanekolon color 1B (for black). Do you want a bunch? PM me your address. It's whatever I will trim off of Ashton's gorilla pullover.

I'm selling all of my MIB Sideshow POTA 12" figures. And before I list them here in the Commerce section or on eBay I wanted to give you POTA diehards first crack, just in case anyone is interested.

Here is what I have (again all MIB):

Dr Zaius - Forbidden Zone Expedition
Gorilla Soldier
Cesaer
Cornelius
Zira
Slave Taylor & Nova 2-Pack

If you're in the U.S., you can get the whole lot for $150 shipped.

LMK, Apes!

I was fishing around Ebay and found this really bizarre photo I've NEVER seen before:

Another option for a body for a Nova figure has surfaced. HT is releasing female True-Type bodies. In fact, there's a thread about them in the General Section(don't ask for a link, I'm not that savy). It's not a bad body, and it's approximately her build. Head's still a problem, but ,hey, I can't handle everything here...PS

I'd love to see a better image of that one!!
Great find.

Kevin posted a bigger photo of it here. The guy who wrote that book Planet of the Apes Revisited was the one selling it. I can't recall his name at the moment. In the photo you can see Heston wearing his tennis shoes, and Zira's holding a cigarette.

PZ check out that photo of Caesar, McDonald and Virgil. That orangutan so does not look like Virgil, huh? I don't know if it's the camera angle or if it's a stand in.

Great and awesome fantastic news, guys!!! I just got my Captain's vest from Hot Toys to replace the torn one that came in the package. I guess it was a misunderstanding on their part. They sent me the regular reply e-mail, "sorry we can't replace the item for you since your receipt is over 30 days old" when I asked them to repair the vest. They did not realize that my receipt was for a prepurchase I had made in December 2008 and the Captain was not delivered until the end of July 2009. Well, hearing that e-mail reply from Hot Toys just made me livid. I'm so glad that they can fix it. You always hear about great customer service from Hot Toys, and I was getting the short end of the stick and just not a happy chimp until it got fixed.

I received an e-mail about a tracking number Monday, but didn't want to jinx it. Yay!!

This goes to show the critics that right is right and wrong is wrong and that persistence is the key to fighting for what is right! Way to go Jess and kudos to you for standing up for yourself! Your admirer, kfog!:peace:banana

Or it shows that explaining a situation/roblem clearly will get a reputable company to stand behind their product.
Kudos to Hot Toys.
Congrats to Jess on a resolved problem done right.

Guys, I also sent a quick e-mail to ABC Express to let them know that no further action is needed from them, as Hot Toys took care of the replacement. I have just received an acknowledgement from ABC Express about this.

Well I am trying to convince the missus to let me but Ursus & at least one soldier :p, I watched the original movie last night, I was suprised how good the picture quality was, considering it's the 1st release DVD and being played on my LCD, I was expecting to be dissapointed. The POTA where my original figure addictions back in the 70's early 80's

Has anybody seen the POTA saga on Blu Ray yet? I'm curious to see how the film holds up in this age of hi-def. Uber-clarity might look great for Pixar films, but I wonder how well older films fair. Can a picture become "too clear"... losing some of the charm that made you like the film in the first place?

As for the Hot Toys apes, I made the purchase easier on my wife by selling some of my other stuff that I've accumulated over the years that I didn't want as much as I wanted the apes. I had sort of a garage sale as it were. Some Sideshow Buffy figures went... along with Sideshow Star Wars stuff and Hellboy. I even weeded out my DVD collection. In the end, I raised more than enough to buy the gorillas.

Also, the price for the gorillas might dip a bit now that they have been in release for awhile... check Ebay for a possible deal.

Finally, there is X-mas coming, shocktrooper... perhaps you can angle one of those apes to be under the tree.
