I was checking, they are mostly customized are they not?

I just picked up a Sideshow Caesar on eBay. I'm going to paint this chimp up as Ace Frehley (a.k.a. The Spaceman).

Hey Angel! No, Ace is still in the garage. I wanted to photograph Zira and Cornelius with him before I let him go...but I haven't had a chance yet. I was thinking of having them walking around like in a museum...and that's where they encounter him...but to do that I needed an easy kind of set to build up. I wanted to photograph them looking up at him in all his glory. I think it would look kewl.

That's a lot of apes to unload. Too bad I can't buy them. I would love all the gorillas and chimps.

Not as pretty as the photoshopped Zira. Looks more like a chimp than a gorilla to me...

I saw those decent priced POTA on Ebay. I was gonna get Ceasar but just didnt have the money.
If the seller still has Ursus later this week I'll get him along with a soldier or two. Ever since I got Cornelius by Sideshow I been on a Apes high. Sideshow apes are very well sculpted, they look so fantastic, like Hot Toys. And I plan on adding life like hair to Sideshow Apes.

But does anybody know if there is a company that makes 1/6 scale Bananas? I seen some on Ebay by Re-ments (they look real) but not sure if they are true 1/6 scale, seem a tad small. Or what do you guys recommend.

Jessica - Ace is still in the garage? I'm a KISS fan and I wouldn't even want that big ol'thing. Photograph it it and sell it to someone. You're not a Kiss fan and I'm sure you could find a use for that chunk of money.

Remember you and I both bought that dinosaur skeleton from Toys 'R Us? To date, neither of us has photgraphed it with Zira as we had planned. Why are we dragging our feet with that?

Getoninja--the rement fruit are smaller than you want. You would just have to sculpt your own. They will look better I think, and more real.

Angel--yeah...I should get Ace out of the garage. I don't have an Escape Zira outfit, so there's no way I could photograph Zira walking by the dinosaur, much as I would like to.

Oh woof! I decided to try to use my oven outside. Thank God because I just burned the sculpey and it's stinking up a storm. I'm going to have to see where I have adjusted the oven after everything cools off. Luckily, I was only trying to make a mold of a zipper pull that I embedded onto the sculpey so that I could add it to that Beat It jacket. Thank God I wasn't trying to bake the hieroglyphs of El Presidente, the ones I slaved over for hours...

I am not sure. I thought the listing mentioned "custom" apes. I personally want to pick up a few of the old sideshow figures, but this thread is soooooo long and pictures are far between. I would love to see some pics of the old sideshow figures that have not been customized.

Here's an old photo of two apes NOT customized. They are cooking with a Rement BBQ grill. I added the burnt color to the corn because the Rement colors were too yellow and didn't look like BBQd corn. I recently purchased a Rement pumpkin shaped pot for Cornelius and Zira, but it's so much tinier than what I would have wanted and it was kind of disappointing. With Rement, make sure you have the measurements. Sometimes it's much smaller than 1:6 scale. It's hit or miss.

The "custom" part of that auction was that he added one accessory in lieu of what he was supposed to have. None that I saw were true "custom" figures.

Anyone in the San Jose California area? There's a Planet of the Apes double feature with Beneath on the big screen! I wasn't going to go, since I thought it was all in the evening, but thinking about it again, I think I will go. There's an afternoon show on Sunday, and that's the one I'll go to: at The Retro Dome, San Jose, CA

God it would be so kewl if I could make my own ape appliances for this...I have everything else ready costume-wise...just don't have the ape appliance...and I am dying to go under the goo again...I guess I'm a makeup freak.

Darn--so many things I want to do. I'm also going to start chugging on my Romulan costume slowly, since it's going to be a big time sucker. Might as well chip at it slowly...I forgot that I wanted to make a wig for this if I can't find anything suitable.

I'm glad to see that those 13 gorillas were all sold and that they found a new home. IMO I think that was a very good deal.

I finally got some money to buy two of those soldier Apes and someone bought them all. Im so sad. Dont know if I will see a deal like that agian.
