Guys--I will be in and out today, and possibly help at daycare. Until we meet again, keep the flags of Central City flying high and keep out the riff raff.
I don't know. I've been in a mood the last few days. Was up over 50 hours staright over the weekend, been trying to get some 1:6 things accomplished and no one is getting back to me from any of the forums, scratch that. Two did. Just felt like venting and then half changed my mind so.... came out instead.
Dylan and Ashton ask why I have to dress up the gorilla as a samurai, and I said it was because it's more fun. I let them play with him, and Dylan, even though he has zero interest in this stuff keeps posing my gorilla samurai. If I didn't give Julius a haircut, his Hot Toys gorilla hair would have been perfect in a chonmage. His hair is pulled as tight as I can make it in a tiny pineapple on top of his head.
This is how my samurai looks after Ashton's played with him. Poor guy!
Jess, pardon me for being brain slow, but ....
YOU CAST THE JULIUS FACE FOR THE HOT TOYS APE? Can i get one of those when I get the rest of the tribunal? Please??
You simply have GOT to try your skill at a 1:6 Urko. Mine is ok but after seeing your 1:1, I think mine needs an upgrade.
Are you brave enough to pop off that face of the Hot Toys ape, IM? I can prep a Julius face for one of your Hot Toys apes. You just have to paint it before you plop it in.
Guys remember this chimp for my Mego scale Zira?
I decided to cut off his head because it's too hard to pose him with that fat stiff body. I just glued his head down onto some fabric.
I think so. All I have to do is glue your faceplate into place, right? IIRC you nake yours with the "nub" on the back so that it fits correctly?
Either way I'm game. After all its a gorilla and one can NEVER have enough of those.
I guess you all know my son is a really good CG animator, but he is also turning into a good photographer here are some shots he took at the Atlanta Zoo on a recent vacation. Of course they are ape related, he is my son after all!
For you chimp lovers... I have nothing. He said there were no chimpanzees there. The last time I was at the Bronx Zoo they were also without chimps. I wonder why? When I was a kid all zoos had chimps, even the dinky Staten Island Zoo had chimps. Anyone know why there are so few chimpanzee exhibits?
Regardless, for you I-man and you other gorilla lovers...
JJ I really love the first photograph, where that orang is standing on the other orang's shoulder. The gorilla photos are also most impressive. Congrats to your son.
Yes, Jungle. The last time I was at the SF Zoo, we made a wide berth around the chimps because one of the males looked agitated and actually had an erection, and that was enough to make me look away. Plus there were signs all over the place warning about flying poo.
Wise move on your part. Contrary to the classic public perception, chimps are in no way nice animals. They share most of our less pleasant character traits with us(along with 99% of our chromosomes...hmm)...PS
Forgive my tardiness... I know some of you may have been waiting to see what I was going to start selling from my collection. This is tougher than I thought...
Here is the first wave of figures I am hoping to sell. In general, I'm looking at making at least $50 on each figure in most cases, but if interested please make me an offer. Please note that you would pay the exact cost of shipping, not me. Some of these figures may get me some more money than others, so like eBay, I'm going to take the highest offer(s) on figures purchased from me. I'll monitor the interest in my figure(s) over the course of the week.
Please e-mail me at [email protected] if you are interested in purchasing any of these figures currently shown here.
Between now and Christmas, I plan on selling other POTA figures as well. This is a little tough, but I really want to sell them for a good cause.
Here is a Conquest gorilla from CONQUEST with a flamethrower and a Chimp.
