Congrats on finding new homes for your apes, Angel. What counts is that they went to someone who will care for them.

Apey birthday, PZ!!

Guys I went to Wondercon last Saturday and my feet are still recovering. OMG it was so fun. I was so glad to not be the only ape in town...it really was way better with company. I may meet up with some more apes this Memorial Day weekend at Baycon...I'll let you know. If you are going to be near Ape City that day and have an ape costume ready, we should meet up.

We were interviewed by someone from the SyFy channel. We may end up on the cutting room floor though, but it was cool.

It was funny when someone asked us to do the hear no evil speak no evil see no evil monkey poses, and Jeff refused. I didn't want to do it either. He said, "There are just some things we refuse to do." :lol

Thanks for the B-Day wishes... I had a GREAT day with my family yesterday.

With the generosity of both my dad and brother, it looks like I'm going to SDCC again this year! My 8th one in a row!!! I hope Blam Ventures will have a booth there with news on Conspiracy as well as the rest of those damn trading cards! Hopefully I can still get a Cornelius card too.... :wink1:

And I'm sure the Rise of the Apes will be well represented there as well since it opens two weeks later. I can't help but be just a little curious about that particular film.

Speaking of cons, it was great to see your photos Jess and the other simians in attendance at Wondercon. I've been going to SDCC for 7 years now and still have yet to have a sighting of a POTA fan in costume.

Perhaps this year will be my year! :exactly::exactly::exactly:

PZ--Drew has been very quiet about the Conspiracy. I hope that we will see that comic, as it directly relates to the original movie, with Landon and all...

Have you guys heard about the BOOM comics, ape-related? Comics are just something I could never get into, but this is something ape related to look forward to.

I would love to go to SDCC. I owe at least that much to Jeff for him to drive all the way up from San Diego to geek out with me at the convention. Wish me luck--I don't know how else to make it happen if my husband gives me grief about it.

With a little bit of luck, you too can find a nice match to the Hot Toys gorilla plum fabric. This little jewel of a mens shirt I purchased at Good Will. Awesome, because if there's one thing I hate, it's dyeing fabric!!

That's not good. Perhaps the release of the POTA reboot might jar it loose. I remember seeing the long languishing Planet of the Apes Revisited book get finally published while hype swirled around Tim Burton's 2001 abomination. It's the best thing that we got out of that film.

Could happen again... maybe.

I've been very hard at work sewing/sculpting!

Here's what I have been up to in Mego scale:

Sticks, you said I should post a photo of the Mystique when she was done, and here she is. I was only responsible for the white outfit for Charles Hughey. I've got soooo much on my plate. Once I find my dremel, I'm going to finish Mathilda's boots. I just can't remember where the heck I put that dremel.

I found a really nice photo of me and Jeff from Wondercon on Flickr:

Jessca I just love that baby chimp you're carrying around while all dressed up. I took special note of that green backpack you're wearing as well. Practical yes! Looks awesome - yes! :hi5:

Your recent MEGO clothing for those recent pictures look just fabulous baby! :yess:

Thanks Angel! It's the same backpack I used last year, especially made just for chimps. Baby Milo was actually from Jeff's collection, so I have made a bid on one on Feebay, because the one I have is much bigger in comparison, and carrying him around all the freaking day would just be very tiresome. I really should make the Escape Zira clothes for me. I think I have all the fabric I need. I need to invest in a real dressform though, and I think I will. It would just make life so much easier for me in the long run.

Aw, booo! I just saw the BOOM! preview of the comics, and it looks like Burton's crap. I'm not touching anything Burton related with a ten foot pole. Easy pass! I'm so disappointed...which is why I really want that BLAM! Conspiracy to happen. I hate you Burton!

Looks like FOX changed the title of Rise of the Apes to....

Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

I guess FOX didn't trust people to understand it was an official reboot of their cherished franchise.

I like these action shots better than shots that have been posed. Here I am trying to find my water bottle in my backpack, and Jeff peeking at the photographer. Baby Milo is patiently sitting on the ledge waiting to be picked up.

Yay!! I won the baby chimp! It was only $16 after shipping/handling...I think because they mispelled it as Furreal CHIP instead of Furreal CHIMP. :panic:

If I can rally enough gorillas that will be willing to flank my side on Memorial day Saturday at Baycon, I will be in full ape gear. :hi5:
